The new strategy seems to be don’t mention or refer to Dom Cummings

Just seen Matt hancock answer numerous questions from peston and completely ignore the Dom Cummings angle it’s now so blatant as a collective strategy to the point he even said “any individual” and didn’t even refer to Cummings by name.

is this how it’s going be from now on.

Totally agree Lefty, but it's an uphill task as the Tory Zombies hang on every word and so do the rwnj Brexiteers . I was wondering if the Brexit nut jobs are enjoying no freedom of movement ?
there's a few trying to silence people in here, mention anything bad about the Tories and they try to shut you up.

It is classic 'old school' negotiation.
The training went something like - if a buyer asks for £10k and you wanted to be a tough negotiator you would never mention that price.
By doing so you give some validity to their stance.

You simply say that is out of the question - I will give you X.

This is just another variation of that thinking.

I hope this doesn't work. I really hope this doesn't just go away because I'm really angry at the way it's been handled and believe the government have a lot to answer for.

It's gone away - unless further revelations come out.
The 'focus groups' have told them it's not that important

Lots of good news now - track and trace, shops opening, pubs opening
Meanwhile over 400 people died yesterday

They may have washed their clothes 1finny, but there is still a stain and a whiff that people will see and smell for a very long time.

412 people was seen as a success in getting it under control I think.

More people died in a single day here than died from it in South Korea since January. shameful.

At the risk of sounding like a parrot, no way is this done with. Too many polictical commentators disagree with the governments stance on Cummings. Yes they will try to "get past it". Somone somewhere will cite Cummings' actions to defend their breach of lockdown, refuse to pay a fine and be prepared to defend themselves in court. Front page news again.

If there are flare ups in infections in the next 2 weeks, the press will highlight that people started to ignore lockdown legislation due to Cummings' actions.

Next week at PMQ, Starmer will have something to say about it, although it is actually non of his business.

That's my hope
But their bet is - in four year's time, Brexit will be done, economy will likely be improving (after some dark times) = promises fulfilled.

The public's faith in this government is in tatters. Majority will not sign up for this app/campaign because they understandably have little faith that it will be managed properly.

Their fear is that they will be hit with many unnecessary isolation orders.

I wont use the app, if it is every launched. I have a family to support and we have a business to run. If we encounter a problem we will use common sense.

My goodwill toward this idiot government has been extended beyond breaking point.

Question to scientists Can you go on 60miles journey to test your eyesight.

Hate The sun - but that was funny

No response btw.

It was quite funny. Just shows how little respect this government has following their painting themselves into the Cummings shaped corner.
