I think my top 3 would be (in no particular order)

Ziege
Merson
Juninho

I remember those three playing on a different level to their team mates, and quite often showing their frustration that they weren’t up to it

Honourable mention to Emerson in his first 3 months, but I think he was generally brute force and physicality, with a sprinkling of talent

We've had some great players wear the Boro shirt but Juninho was one of the most skillful players I have seen play not only in a Boro shirt but in England. At times I would sit in amazement at some of the things he did on the ball.

His change of direction and burst of pace over 5 yards was unreal.

Plus, he gave everything on the pitch. Whereas many other big names would coast or switch off or sulk, he really cared.

Bobby Murdoch. We only saw him in his dotage but I've never seen a better passer of a ball. All done at walking pace!
