The Last of Us TV Show

I'm yet to watch the final episode yet but so far my opinion is that I was expected a Walking Dead show full of action and 'zombies' but I've grown to really enjoy the show for what I believe it is, and what i'm viewing it as, which is the relationship between the main 2 characters in the world they find themselves in. I would have liked a bit more of the science of it all actually, a little bit more of a flashback to the outbreak, bit more on why it happened and the initial 'outbreak' and the science behind the 'roots' (for want of a better word) I feel that was only briefly touched on, but overall with the finale still to watch, i've really enjoyed it and cant wait for S2

There was quite a few mentions and hints about why it happened, it was the infected grain. In the first episode Ellie went into the shop and there was a report on the radio about it; Joel and Ellie and Tommy also avoided baked goods due to not buying the cake, not making pancakes and not eating the neighbours food or cookies, then second episode they talked about the outbreak in a flour mill. Cordyceps is a real fungus that infects wasps and the like and the inference is it made the Juno to humans via the food chain.

Not sure how they eradicated it down the line though as Ellie has a chicken sandwhich in one of the episodes lol.

Yeah i caught all those bits, and the part with the scientist/doctor woman going into it aswell but i just think more could have been mentioned from a scientific side not just bits you have to work out like them not buying cake, eating the neighbours cookies etc... I usually read a review online after each ep which goes into detail, highlighting the 'easter eggs' and hidden bits normal dafties like me would usually miss lol

Another little cool fact is
that the woman playing Ellie's mum in the final episode was also the actress who played Ellie in the motion capture for the game, and the face on which she was based.

What I thought was interesting is that she actually looked quite like she could be Bella Ramsey's mother, despite the many, many, many complaints about how Bella Ramsey didn't suit the part of Ellie.

Already posted above 😂. It agree she did look a lot like her. My girlfriend thought it was her

Presumably, freshly harvested local crops weren't affected. Just initially enough mass produced grain to infect a critical mass of people to create a self perpetuating spread globally.

Most of my thoughts on the series as a whole have already been described, it was a great adaption however I really think it could've done with at least another two episodes.

I thought the last episode was overly rushed. Maybe it's just because I knew what was coming, be interesting to hear from those who've not played the games if they think it was rushed as well?
Same. Last episode felt rushed to me too.

I thought that. Similar voice etc too.

Like how that infected pangolin was infected in Wuhan but we're all fine eating local pangolins again.

Just got to the end and really enjoyed it. The episodes that were character studies were wonderful standalone pieces of drama and the cinematography was beautiful. I'm slightly saddened by the lack of depth in the final episode, but overall it's one of the best series I've seen in a while.

Now time for the new season of The Mandalorian.
