The irony is the manager who deserves support is getting the least!

And hang on, this isn’t a whinge it is a fact really bourne out of the situation we find ourselves financially because of the Covid crisis.

It is frustrating as I am sure under normal circumstances we would have had another striker in. To me , as we have seen such improvements in a number of players, the likes of Burrell should be having intensified training sessions( this may be happening)

Get him and others involved, everyone agrees we need further striking options - surely it is time to see what some of them can do?

Sounds a bit whinge-y to me ;)

It could prove to be a blessing in disguise. A tight squad where everyone is getting good coaching to improve the way they play the game and getting pitch time. You get cohesion within the squad with a belief in themselves and their teammates. Players that otherwise would have had the occasional sub appearance in the fizzy pop cup get to either play or be on the bench for nearly every game.

Marcus Browne, has a goal to his name and got an assist last night. Looks a lot less likely to get sent off and he's not the only one.

This team could be more than the sum of its parts.

Imagine how Gibbo must feel laid inbed on a night with regret . Its cost us our beloved club squandering money . Its cost him that and a fortune in wealth.
But like said above , shake ourselves down and onwards and already upwards

I would imagine lots of clubs in the championship are under the same financial restrictions to some degree or another so the playing field regards covid restrictions is probably quite level. Had there been no pandemic other clubs would have spent more too.

Money wise with the waste on players . Squandering is probably a better word !

On that we can agree.
I've seen a few clubs implode: Pompey and Bolton spring to mind, and while times haven't been good, they're often considerably worse for teams after a prolonged period in the PL.

He's probably got more at his disposal than he did at Cardiff. I almost think he works better in small tight squads.

He says his favourite part of the game is making players 'better'. He's clearly doing that and some👍

I'm sure he'd love a cheeky 4-6mil to spend but how many champo managers do? We paid 2.5mil for Akpom and I don't see many other champo managers paying that much for a player.

I fully get what you mean thought. He must look around that squad at the players monk and Pulis bought and think 'how much did they pay?' or 'how much are they on? '. He probably thinks that he could of bought 'as good' for cheaper.

Iconicly the manager I missed out was Woody. You have to say 2mil for Dijksteel / 500k for Bola and 350k for Browne is looking top business 👍. They just needed a decent manager and a bit of belief.

Undoubtedly, but there's no point in wishing that the world is other than it is, is there?

Not at all, we are here because of the economic situation. I actually think Warnock has been backed fairly well given the economic climate, a lot of clubs have spent next to nothing let along paid £2.6m for a striker. Just thinking what could of been. Warnock should of been the choice when we were relegated, said for years that he was the bloke to get us promoted but remember seeing a lot of resistance on fmttm, a few said they would never go to a game if he was our manager. I don’t think his style is as bad as advertised, we tend to dominate possession and create a few chances most games. Not gonna lie I do like the fact we aren’t nice to play against, we are awkward and don’t give teams much, it’s quite satisfying knowing we are going to spoil a few teams weekends this year and not many will look forward to playing us.

I think the same statement equally applies to Mogga's tenure too, plus his squad was distinctly poorer than Warnocks, which apart from attacking talent is decent enough by any measure.

Ironic in both cases.

I doubt Dijksteel, Bola & Brown were identified by Woodgate. Maybe the scouting team deserve some credit.

I thought it was reported he had them down as players he wanted as part of his famous PowerPoint job interview? Didn't Rio Ferdinand recommend Browne to him?

of course it might well be we'd scouted them too which is why Woody was aware of them (he wasn't an outsider after all so would surely know who was on the radar). But he probably does deserve some credit on this one, I think it's fairly likely these are targets he pushed for.

I think you have to take the Covid crisis into account. All clubs outside of the funny money of the PL have had to be cautious. I was surprised we didn't sell more assets in the summer.
