The Ignore button - I really like this now

Now that would be interesting, the hall of shame. Would highlight who is abusive and trolling. Whoever is top of the table at teh end of the month should get their account revoked.

That could be up for debate though. I find some just block people as they dont agree with their views. I wouldnt say the person with the most blocks means their abusive or a troll. I think its more a reflection of the blocker as opposed to the blockee

Without an effective ban hammer, not sure it would work. Good idea though.

Posters may flounce and hit the button without any abuse being involved. Opinions aren't always welcome at times unfortunately.

Let's therefore introduce selective Censorship, the child of fear and the father of supreme ignorance.

I was very sceptical about this when it was first introduced. I like to think I can listen to any opinion with objectivity and actually enjoy the posts that contradict my own views - most of the them
But I had a particular poster who would hurl personal abuse at just about any post I made. Even my occasional tongue in cheek ones. So much so that it turned in to a vendetta.
Since exercising the option it has disappeared like a puff of smoke. I feel so much better for it.

I used to laugh when people say they were bullied on the internet. My standard answer was just switch it off, or that they were just imaginary friends anyway.
This is my only ignored user. I can even write this without getting the abuse this user would even like to throw at this.
Weirdo....

I wonder if there are many posters who don’t know this thread exists.

Also, I wonder if the OP is wondering if the person he has blocked has replied or not?

So many questions.
Surely the op will simply log out of the site and then take a gander at this thread as a guest to see if the folk in question have commented.

*yawn*

I am the poster in question and to say he’s talking out of his backside is being polite.

This is the guy who was trolling me on the day of my fathers funeral, trying to goad me into an argument despite it being pointed out to him that I would shortly be seeing my father make his final journey.

He then suggested I shouldn’t even be on the board that day as if I were somehow disrespecting my father by being on there while watching the clock tick by slowly.

He was then berated by quite a number of regular posters for being bang out of order and didn’t like it.

HundredRoom aka Clive Road Stamper from the previous board really does have issues and is somehow always the victim despite his abrasive and downright nasty attitude towards most posters.

No doubt the attention seeking loon will take great pleasure in temporarily unblocking me to see that I’ve responded and smile wryly to himself as he considers himself to have won some sort of victory. The man is a sandwich short of a picnic.
I'm really glad I finally read this. I thought it was just me with HundredRoom. I always found him nasty, vindictive and spiteful. However I just assumed he was one of the guys who doesn't take to my personality. It makes me feel a little bit better knowing he's like this with other people too. Sounds like he was much worse to you than he has been to me as well. Glad you can block him. I don't mind a disagreement (I can't ever see me blocking, say @Alvez_48 or @RandySavage who I seem to disagree with often) Disagreements like that just mean you have differences of opinion and no one wants to live in a confirmation bias bubble. When it gets nasty and personal though, I don't see the point so would block then

I’m pretty sure if someone he hasn’t ignored quotes the post he can read it. Might be wrong as I haven’t ignored anybody to test that out.

That is terrible to hear that - many comdolences about your father. Am really disappointed that anyone could behave like that.

No you can't. leads to some confusion sometimes as it look like someone is replying to the message above it but is actually quoting a message. You can't even tell that the person replying is quoting anyone
