The Furs at Hammersmith Odeon 1982

Thanks borolad259 👍

I was too young to get to this one but I did go to see them at Hammersmith Odeon in 1984 on the Mirror Moves tour.

@Centralscrutinizer the Newcastle City Hall gig was probably 1987 on the Midnight to Midnight tour but by that time they'd gone all 'leather and big hair'.

I've seen them many times in the last 15 years or so most recently last year in Spain.

At the end of July they released their first new album in 29 years called Made of Rain which I have to say is absolutely fantastic.

UK tour set for next May (hopefully) with a date at the Royal Albert Hall.

Saw them a few times. Talk Talk backed them up at one concert which was brilliant. Their new album "Made Of Rain", there first for 29 years, is surprisingly very good. Sounds like it comes right from the early 80's. A worthy listen.

The Psychedelic Furs at the Rock Garden is one of my top ten gigs. For a few years after they were a great band but by 1984 they'd blown it and were dull and only interested in chasing the yankee dollar.

I saw them a couple of years back and they were boring. Going through the motions playing the hits. Made Of Rain got one play in my house, I thought it was incredibly dull.

That sounds right for the tour date I saw. I'll check out the new album, it'd passed me by

I think my first boss when I joined Reuters in 1987 left the band in 1982 - Duncan Kilburn.

Yes and not a particularly amicable parting. Roger 'Dog' Morris was also booted out at the same tme however in the last few years he has re-joined the touring line up on 2nd guitar. Nice bloke is Roger.

Last I heard Duncan was still somewhere in Asia.
