The end?

Poland on its own would probably defeat Russia at the moment. I wouldn't mess with the Polish army, frankly.

I suppose there is the possibility that Poland uses this as a pretext for adventuring into Belarus. I suspect though, with the West fully aware that Russia is about to negotiate terms for surrender, there will be efforts made to stop any further escalation.

(Edit: seems I was probably wrong here ... certainly at odds with my mate's thoughts).

I suppose there'll be a more thorough response from our man later, but this is what he is saying now, in response to someone in our conversation suggesting that article 4 will be triggered.

"Article 4 is more interference in elections, other means of undue influence... and such. A missile attack is 5, mistake or not.

And, NATO is built on the promise of defence, and also on being the biggest badest kid on the block. NATO just can't let Russia of this hook, because China is standing on the sideline waiting to see what happens. No answer, China will take Taiwan.

Lavrov just high tailed it out of G19 meeting."

Basically, he thinks that NATO will hit back and hit hard.

I’m not convinced China would attack Taiwan if NATO doesn’t respond militarily to a couple of potentially misdirected missiles.

Zelensky is understandably trying to ramp up the significance of the strike, which I can't blame him for whatsoever, obviously Ukraine will want NATO to react as it strengthens Ukraine's hand.

So with Poland being a NATO country, is this time for all other NATO countries to unite and try and put an end to Putins terrorism? Is this the start of something massive? 😞
Couple of clear courses of action:

a) take it as an accident and warn russia to be more careful
b) take it as an accident and demand reparations, with further financial repercussion if not paid
c) take it as possibly an accident and demand reparations under threat of a counter strike
d) take it as unlikely to be accidental and strike russian missile launchers in retaliation/defence
e) all out assault on russia

I suspect that Russian ambassadors in various Poland, the US, the UK will be called in the morning with with the starting point of the discussion being b, escalating to c if there aren't assurances it won't happen again and immediate acceptance of blame.
