The end?

Ok
For a country that has a hard on for its military they’re awfully **** at wars

- Crimean war -lost
- Russo - japanese war - **** handed to them
- ww1 - had to surrender
- ww2- won, but could have been very different if no lend lease or 2 front war
- Afghanistan - lost

And we now have Ukraine
Dont forget the Winter war with Finland either.... they gained some territory but suffered horrendous losses to what was effectively a load of farmhands.

He may have to reassess his numbers the way things are going. When you send old men and kids to war, you know it's over. They are next in line methinks.

The WW2 or Great Patriotic War as they call it is visible all over the place… busts of Zhukov, statues of war heroes, war memorials, memorial plaques on buildings, tanks/jets/artillery on plinths in parks, the black/gold ribbon decorations, fireworks/dressing up on various dates and various other reminders. I get it, they brutally fought a dehumanising invader and repulsed them, that’s to be remembered, but contemporary Russians should see the parallels there with today (and it’s nowt to do with Ukrainian Nazis).

Yeah there’s a reason why much of the former USSR and Warsaw Pact want to align with NATO and the EU and not their former oppressor Russia. The west is far from perfect and we can criticise our own military interventions, but if NATO had disbanded after the Cold War, the Baltics and much of Eastern Europe would likely be back under Russian dominance right now.

Good news on that front, some of those prisoners were, at least officially, scheduled for execution, a rare positive contribution to the world from the Saudis.

Said it before, back a bear into a corner and he'll turn on you.

If it's a choice of going nuclear and saving his own skin or getting an icepic in his ear I have no doubt what Putin will do.

And to suggest his nuclear capability has gone away due to poor maintenance..... FFS.

He wouldn't drop a nuke on the States, he'd send them our way and the Amercans would do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

no, no it isn't.

Ukraine is a sovereign country and has the right of self determination, no one held a gun to the head of Ukrainian leaders tell them they must join NATO, someone has held that gun to Ukraine telling them they can't. Grow the f.. up man.

The conflict's starting point wasn't even over NATO membership, it was Ukraine attempting to forge economic ties with countries that Russia didn't want it to.
Russia first invaded in 2014 because Ukrainians wanted closer relations with the EU.
They'd been on track to sign a free trade agreement with the EU in 2013 before the Russians pressured Yanukovych in to ignoring the will of the Ukrainian people and mass pro-EU protests kicked off which were eventually successful.

Russia financed pro-Russian protests across Ukraine and then after Ukraine signed the treaty with the EU in February 2014 , they invaded and seized Crimea and propped up separatist groups in the Donbas.

The debate about NATO only restarted after Russia's first invasion, and it's a bloody good reason to want join when your largest neighbour is actively hostile to you and has already invaded and illegally annexed part of your country.

Putin will suffer major defections and the masses will revolt.
There‘s not enough high-rise windows to push them out of.
No chance. They're all brainwashed with little access to the truth.
Where are all the high profile defections now?
Anyone taking over and pulling out of Ukraine will be seen as a traitor to the motherland and will be strung up anyway.

Putin is seeing the end. His days are numbered.

Putin won’t be going anywhere and if he does you will get Putin 2.0.

No winners in this war.

Regardless of nationality, just tens of thousands of ordinary soldiers dead or maimed and tens of millions of ordinary people turned into refugees and all that goes with it.

Whilst the politicians argue about who is in and out of NATO and the revered EU from behind the barricades, our hard earned taxes go to buy even more destructive weapons and the Ukraine infrastructure is smashed to the point it will take 20 years to recover.

Slav v Slav.

Madness.

Lets hope it doesn’t go nuclear because I think London would be first on the list.

You didn’t notice the heavy breathing and signs of desperation then.
Clutching at straws my friend. There'd been big rumours about his health but the Yanks have confirmed there's nowt wrong with him, and they's know
