the edge

And Peterson . To see him just meltdown in the middle of a post match interview shows what must have been going through his head at the time.
Mavericks aren't wired in the same way as us normal people.

Heard Pieterson commentating on the cricket the other day. His attempts at trying to be funny & wind up Rob Keys/Mark Butcher were embarrassing. If I was either of those two I'd have taken him outside for a quiet word.

Enjoyed that. We were really good in all positions weren't we.
Perhaps this latest batch will rise to the same heights, but to be the best England always need someone with sheer class like Botham, Freddie or Pietersen.

I've never really liked KP, always thought he had a chip on his shoulder, but there was no doubting his immense talent and is possibly the best batsman I have ever seen. Do have a bit of sympathy for him though after he was sent out to do that interview, when it seemed clear he wasn't mentally right. Loved the comments from the team building camp in Germany, why do I need to be carrying bricks and doing press ups to hit a f**King cricket ball and score a hundred. Also Jimmy's reaction to Mitchell Johnson, after he had sledged him was brilliant. I get the feeling after watching it the aussies really don't like us 😁

Foggon probably used to ask , why do I need to run up Eston Hills with a backpack of bricks to score goals.

Just watched it on iplayer.....uplifting and gut wrenching, watching men fall apart emotionally and mentally.......the strains these guys go through is incredible

Great documentary.

If you like Cricket docs, there is a 3 part one on Sky demand at the moment called Pictures from Paradise about the England tour of the Caribbean in 1990............. Sky pat themselves on the back a bit as it was the first fully televised winter tour but the actual story of how we nearly beat the all conquering Windies is well worth a watch.

Also on Pieterson, the Sky doc series about him is worth a watch.

Although imo he does come across as someone who would kiss his own reflection !!

A great watch👍

We just saw the brilliant rise to No1. We would kill for a top 4-5 batting order like that now.

That said it's a hard watch. Especially watching the likes of Trott and Prior with 'demons'. I remember Swan flying home mid ashes and thinking 'c*nt' but clearly loads going on behind the scenes.

Also the sledging...jimmy Anderson coming out to bat and someone saying 'Johnson's gonna break your arm'🙄

Trott looked genuinely terrified facing those delivery's. He almost looked like he didn't know where he was.

I'm mixed on KP. I guess he brought plenty on himself but you could see the pressure on him. He got a lot of stick for IPL. Now every fecker does it and few play all 3 forms of the game. He was basically burntout.

The fact is that whole KP debacle cost us cricket fans 3-4 years of a great batsman. He could easily have played to his late 30s in one form of the game or another.

Good watch. Showed how tough it is to be a top sportsman or woman, I'll be less judgemental in future I think when results unravel.
