The Definitive Boro Home Shirt

Hummel seem to be going the route of historical re-makes/reboots but i'd like to see something different for the away kit..

I'll go with that, even though I started going late 1971 the 73-74 season was such an awesome, unforgettable season with the iconic home & away strip that it'll live with me forever & as my favourite too

When I first went in January1968 it was a plain red cotton shirt, plain white cotton shorts and plain red socks, absolutely no logos or badges. I wouldn’t mind seeing that as a one season one off.

But the 1973-74 kit was groundbreaking and is my all time favourite.

What I always remember about cotton football shirts is that with every wash the sleeves got longer and the body got shorter. So after 30 washes your hands only came halfway down the sleeves and your stomach was on display.

I think you're right!

White Shorts 1899-1966 (67 years)
Red Shorts 1966-1982 (16 years)
White Shorts 1982-2000 (18 years)
Red Shorts 2000-2009 (9 years)
then from 2009 to 2020 we've had a mix of 6 seasons white and 5 seasons red in the following order:
White
White
Red
Red
Red
White
Red (promotion)
White (big mistake)
