This just gets sickeningly worse. Tonight Hancock was asked how many NHS staff had died and was each death investigated so that lessons might be learned to avoid a repeat. He didn't answer and passed the Q on to the Chief Nursing Officer who seemed a bit taken aback to be passed this Q and she didn't answer either.

Yes he’s very adept at avoiding questions he doesn’t want to answer - actually adept is too complimentary, he just decides not to answer

I thought he surpassed himself today.

On 15th March, seven weeks after the first UK cases, he appeared on national television imploring manufacturers to switch production to ventilators, as it had just occured to the Government that we didn't have enough. Today, almost four weeks later, he described PPE for health care workers as a "precious resource" (rather than a basic necessity) and again asked UK manufacturers to begin producing it if possible.

I'd imagine that in a couple of weeks' time, just before his 100,000 daily tests target is due, he will come on TV again to ask scientific firms if they could think about making some of those too...
