The Cycling Thread

Some of you may remember Jose the ex pro who I went out on a ride with in June, he messaged me yesterday. He spent the last 3 weeks working as a soigneur at the tour.
I think it was for Soudal Quick Step as he is now at the tour femmes with AG Soudal. He said he will send some photos, if he does I will attempt to upload them on here.
They are keeping him busy I know that.

Never ceases to amaze me
First instinct when in absolute agony….

‘Yeah, I’ll try and get on me bike’
yes its brutal. You have to cross the line today to start tomorrow. so first instinct is get back on and over the line and then see if the medics can patch me up later!

Today he led him out for the rest of the Tour he may fancy it himself as the profiles are quite lumpy.
I think tomorrow might suit him as he can handle a tough finish sprint. I think the other stages might be too tough, but it depends on how hard they're ridden.

Worst kept secret in the peloton come to pass - Remco to Bora. Not unexpected obviously but still don’t think it gets him or them a TDF win.

That finish climb was much tougher than I expected, but Matty hung on until the last kilometer and blew big-time like a lot of other fast men. Last 10k.

Utterly bizarre situation at the. tour de Romandie Feminen this morning at the start. 5 teams disqualified for a dispute over safety tracking devices. Top 3 favourites included. Vastly devalued race as a result. Heads need to be knocked together.

I read a couple of reports this afternoon from the UCI and the teams involved and it was still clear as mud as to where the conflict lies.

EDIT. This report from Road C.C. makes it a little clearer.
