The Cult of Boris

Bit like Trump it does not seem to matter what Johnson or his mates do there is no consequences or accountability and his fans will still support him whatever he does, truly scary times. Found the below in a newspaper comments section, which eloquently sums up Boris Johnson.
"
A piccaninny-watermelon racist; a fridge-hiding, phone-stealing coward; by far the least successful PM to ever hold the office, according to straightforward metrics; an undisguised liar, whose instinct is always to find someone else to blame rather than take responsibility for his own actions; a man who makes Theresa May look competent and David Cameron like an intellectual; a serial philanderer, and a serial waster of public monies; a brother who isn’t trusted by his own siblings, and a colleague who isn’t trusted by decent members of his own party (now expelled, of course); a father who seems happy to disconnect from his own children but will flatten Japanese ones for a photo opportunity; a romantic partner whose domestic life has required police intervention, within the past year; someone with no comprehension of others and precious little intellect, yet who still believes himself to be everyone else’s effortless superior; an employee who seems to have failed or lied in every job he’s ever held, whether that was as a reporter, or foreign secretary, or mayor of a capital city; a public figure who refuses to face questions he doesn’t like; a man who isn’t trusted by his political allies or previous employers, but is admired by Donald Trump; someone who seems to see other people’s pain as his opportunity; a political leader who has no respect for parliament, or democracy; someone who believes that he’s comparable to Churchill on issues other than shared attitudes to race and imperialism; a politician who could only ever be a Tory, because no other party could or would accept such moral emptiness; a scholar who read the classics and learned nothing about the world, or himself, but concluded that it would make him look intelligent if he could regurgitate bits of what he couldn’t digest; a politician who knows full well that his only significant policy is a bald, empty lie.

Sadly, the worst of what the UK faces is that none of that is the worst of Boris Johnson.

The worst of it is that he knows all of the above to be true, and still believes that his entitlement to hold the highest office is greater than your entitlement to decent government.

The worst of it is that he’s incapable of understanding that the future of the nation is more important than his status within it, and incapable of understanding that his character would make him unfit for leadership at any point in history, but far less when the UK faces an existential crisis that’s at least partly his own deliberate and considered creation.

The worst of it is that the UK is already so democratically bankrupt that Boris Johnson, as Prime Minister, is somehow feasible.

The worst of it is that if he’s allowed to, Boris Johnson will inevitably make things far, far worse than they are now."

Jam I agree, and I do always try and call him Johnson, see opening line of post, would not want to use Boris, as it some how makes it sound like he is your mate which he ain't. But to his fans and the cult he is Boris

3 factions to the Tory voters The racist brexit old nut jobs, the reasonable but sometimes hands in till sort and the ones who post on here Zombie Tories.

Unfortunately he appeals to the hard of thinking knuckle dragging little Englander types that seem to be everywhere now. He can, and literally does get away with anything because there is no come back - the Cummings scandal will die down an most of the right wing media will soon be back on side preserving their interests. Business as usual, know your place plebs
