The Connolly watch v WBA

In reviewing his performance tonight I’d have to say there was little or no improvement from Saturday’s game. He was caught offside early on and generally faded as the game wore on. I only counted two completed passes — even those were insignificant and he was basically shot-less.

Replaced on 80 minutes, by Pelts I think that he’s still finding his way in this team and also in Wilder’s scheme.

5/10

I actually thought he had his best match for us. He looked better when Balogun went off and Watmore came on (thought Sporar looked off it).

He at least grafts and gets stuck in. I think he's looking fitter.

I think he looks a far better player than Balogun who doesn't get much said about him. Again it's probably because of Connallys off field reputation (that he's not actually done with us).

Thought Connally did alright. Its about opinions I guess.

His best match was definetly against Derby.

I thought he was okay last night not great but not bad, as said above he gets stuck in and he tries unlike Balogun who is a complete liability. Hopefully Sporar is back to sharpness soon so we don’t have to play both of them, especially if he’s going to insist on watmore being an impact sub.

He was better than Balogun last night but that really isn’t saying much at all.

Works hard is about as much as I could say for him.

I’ve seen absolutely nothing to suggest we should keep him past the end of the season.

I would only use him when Watmore’s legs weren’t working, to pair with Sporar.

I’m also not greatly impressed with Sporar’s goal return but we have no better option.

Watmore is the only one I would keep, major overhaul of the front line needed at the end of the season.

To be fair Watmore is the only one we will have. Oh and Coburn.

I simply doing see us paying 6-8mil for Sporar. It will be interesting to see what happens if he gets near 15 goals (don't we have an obligation to buy?)

I genuinely think we have one or two free agents lined up. I think the loans a stop gap until the players we want are available and a way around FFP.

I've not seen enough from any of the 3 loans to say buy or even bring back on loan. It's a difficult one to get right as everyone wants a decent forward.
