The government haven't ruled out closing bars and restaurants. Do they need legislation or can we just bring in martial law?
The temperance acts were about bringing pubs under civil control to limit drinking in wartime. Even temperance groups weren't impressed with the legislation

Ireland has closed all pubs from tonight, looks like Belfast will be busy for St Patrick’s Day
