The british economy

Let's have a balanced view shall we....

UK economy to fare worse than any other country in developed world this year, IMF forecasts

The International Monetary Fund says the country's growth is being held back by more miserly government spending and the effects of high energy prices - and that the economy will even lag behind Russia's in 2023.

Let's have a balanced view shall we....

The only argument to defend how badly the UK is doing nowadays is whataboutery...

If this is what it has boiled down to there is no saving the Brexit worshippers!!

Yeah, Whatboutry and lies.

Ignoring the forecast for a bleak 2023 is peak brexit isn't it? Thing is, these people aren't as dumb as they appear. They KNOW how bad it is. I just don't get why they are still defending and deflecting. Embarrassment? Wanting to "take back our borders"?? Why would anyone of sane mind defend something that has clearly failed.

I feel a bit sorry for them really. Watching Ann Widdecombe on Vine and she is the opitomy of it. Now she is saying Brexit isn't to blame, it's how the Tories did Brexit. They just can't admit that there isn't any advantages to leaving. But I suppose once you are so deep into the cult it takes some guts and integrity to pull yourself out - sadly she has neither. It's always someone else's fault for these types.

Government stooge on TV this morning saying all the facts/data/IMF forecasts were wrong......and their predictions were **** on. I mean, their handling of the economy over the past 13 years..... seems believable........FFS 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

No wonder there's no money Rishi...you fkn clown...A £100 BILLION A YEAR?

Brexit is costing the UK's economy £100bn a year as the way the split from the EU has been implemented leaves companies struggling to attract investment and hire workers.

On the third anniversary of Britain leaving the bloc, the nation’s economy is 4pc smaller than it might have been according to analysis by Bloomberg Economics.

Business investment in the UK has grown 19pc less than the average across G7 economies, it showed.

Economists Ana Andrade and Dan Hanson said: "Did the UK commit an act of economic self-harm when it voted to leave the EU in 2016? The evidence so far still suggests it did.

"The main takeaway is that the rupture from the single market may have impacted the British economy faster than we, or most other forecasters, expected."

The data comes as the IMF downgraded its 2023 UK growth forecast by more than any other G7 nation.

Covid and the Russians, Covid and the Russians…..just loop it, because that’s all we’re going to hear for the next week.

That's right, the Russians are at war and still doing better than us. I wonder why that is?

And Johnson was fantastic over COVID, the press told us, so why the excuse, didn't the other countries catch it?

It seems Nobby's point is that even though the UK cut are adrift at the bottom of the league despite having massive resources, it's somehow not so bad as Germany are also struggling against relegation.

Widdicombe has a point that any Brexit opportunity has been utterly destroyed by Conservative policy designed purely to create greater wealth for those already in possession of riches whilst increasing the burden on the rest of society.

We're now in a position where the very best members of our hardest working, most dedicated and totally essential professions are being called out as militant because they are struggling to earn enough money to do anything beyond exist.

I'm not going to criticise anyone for their Brexit opinion or question its significance or otherwise to the current situation that we find ourselves in, but how anyone can be satisfied and continue to find excuses for the performance of successive Conservative governments is something that I find impossible to comprehend.

They have lost control of the economy and have ceased to govern in any meaningful way.
Look at what bills that are lined up to go through Parliament.
Everything, now they know they will lose in 2 years, is geared to saving themselves from a total wipeout, while continuing to loot everything that’s not nailed down.
