The best performance from a football team.. ever

The Germany v Brazil one is probably mine. I expected a close game, and thought Brazil might edge it with home advantage, but to just see Germany rip them to shreds like that was surreal at the time. I felt so sorry for that little lad in tears!

I would honestly say I've seen many a Boro complete team performance, that will rival anything I've seen in my lifetime from any other team

Might be controversial on here but I remember Don Revies dirty Leeds team beatting Southampton 7-0 around 1973ish and totally played them off the park. Southampton couldn’t get near them.
And I hate Leeds

The Man City murder 8 - 1 at the Riverside
The Arsenal murder of us at the Riverside ( boring , boring Arsenal )
Sunderland v Charlton play off final was superb mid 98 . Was in the Dickens and the place erupted when he missed that penalty

Another vote for Spurs away for Boro.
Best ever performance for me was Liverpool beating Forest 5-0 in the late 80's when Barnes was at his peak.

When we beat West Ham or Coventry at home in 96-97. Emerson was in that all too brief "best player on the planet mode" and it seemed to raise everyone else's game too. Even Mustoe was doing drag backs and outside of the boot passes.

I believe Redknapp was that impressed after we played them off the park he made his West ham side watch us play the next game against Coventry. Who did exactly the same to.

Yes think the crowd were counting up the passes without Southampton touching the ball

I’m getting upset reminiscing about that team at that time 😪

You beat me to it! Barnes, Beardsley, McMahon were on another planet that day. I have to confess to once being a Liverpool fan as a glory supporting 10 year old. 😳

Best I've seen live , Boro 1 Arsenal 6 April 99
Never seen such class, we were good they were awesome.
I watched the Germany vs Brazil in a Greek taverna with a very international audience, it was the end of the Brazilian magical aura that had been carried by blokes like me for 1970, I couldnt appreciate the Germans despite admiring their style for years. It as like watching your Best Mate slap your Dad
Edit. My abiding memory is of the really painful moans from around the Taverna as the goals went in.

The performance that stands out for me was AC Milan beating a decent Barcelona team 4-0 in the 1994 Champions League final

My old feller (who was Scottish) told me that the 1960 European Cup final in Glasgow was the best footballing performance he had ever seen, Real Madrid V Eintracht Frankfurt. Ferenc Puskas was the master.

Brazil in the 1970 Mexico world cup finals was the best team ive ever seen.

the 1998/99 man utd team was very good (boro only team to beat them at old trafford and the last team to beat them that season)

Best I’ve seen live is when we beat Chelsea 3-0. A phenomenal performance to beat such a good team and straight after the Villa humiliation.

Best I’ve seen in general is Germany beating Brazil 7-1. In a World Cup Semi Final. In the Maracana with the world and the Brazilian crowd expecting to blow them away. At the time you just could not believe what was unfolding in front of your eyes.

Was that our beloved Boro we just saw do that? The shell shocked looks around White Hart Lane concourse after we'd absolutely battered Spurs will live long in my memory. It easily could have been 5 at h/t.

Barcelona 2-2 Chelsea in the CL semi-final (2-3 on aggregate).

Chelsea were losing 2-0 and down to 10 men towards the end of the first half.

They just defended with everybody back, except for a couple of brief excursions upfield to score.

It wasn't pretty, but was remarkable under the circumstances.
