The App

Why would a two week lockdown allow the track and trace app to suddenly start working, do people really believe that the government will fix it in two weeks?

It wouldn’t.
I know a guy brought in as a Director of this project a few weeks ago.
It is flawed beyond belief.
His view - they know when someone has tested +ve they know they have the capability to track that person‘s movements.
They know the vast majority are non compliant.
We either carry on or use the technology for enforcement - that’s the debate.

By the way - operationally it isn’t fit for purpose either

This fella retired this year and is now on it full time - for free. He just wants to help.

Germany managed it in March. Scrap everything and get them to produce a system for us.

Fixing ours - no chance whilst the gravy train is running.

Aaargghhh, calling again for a lockdown for 2 weeks to fix the app in the HOC!!!

I'm saying a two week lockdown wouldn't allow the app to be fixed. The app is hopeless and can not possibly be part of a proper track and trace system as Germany managed to put in place in two weeks.

This is what one of the new Directors has been advising.
In summary he has told Hancock that they can easily find the movements of those who give the correct personal details.
That allows them to know that a Covid +ve patient is out and about.
His view is either get serious and make the App mandatory or it will continue to be a sh1t show.

Given what happened to SNP Margaret Ferrier Investigation though - I’m not sure police action will be welcomed By the broader public.

I see you've spotted the case by case quote.

Don't be so naive Bear, if you have the app on your phone then of course the police are going to use it as another tool in the box.

Question
If the App tells you to self isolate and you don’t ... is that an offence?

No idea. Don't have the app on my phone. I also don't answer the phone to people NOT😏 in my contacts list so how would they contact me? A knock on the door?
