I think this is the best it's going to get as far as living with it unless the virus transforms again.
If we don't change our habits then infections will most likely increase over the winter, how much that will affect policy will depend on how many end up in hospital and how many die. Not sure how much the general public will be happy to adopt more stringent measures now.

Not sure how they're able to work out the % now including 12+ unless they know for certain how many are actually entitled to receive a dose.
All over 12s are entitled to a single dose. It's not clear if the second dose percentage assumes no 12-15s are entitled.

Uptake percentages for regions and local authorities, along with age breakdowns for England and local areas within England, are presented by vaccination date. Percentage uptake by vaccination date is calculated by dividing the total number of vaccinations given to people aged 12 and over by the number of people aged 12 and over on the National Immunisation Management Service (NIMS). Age is defined as a person's age at 31 March 2021.

He hadn't bothered to look at the data!

Interesting stat in that article that 470,000 booster doses given over a 3 day period to 3 October. That's significantly more than the 2 dose roll out figures
