Positive cases were 2,763.

45 deaths were reported today

149,168 deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate (up to 19 March)

31,707,594 have had a first dose vaccination. 85,227 first dose vaccinations yesterday. 5,683,509 have had a second dose. 186,793 second dose vaccinations today.

I'm pretty sure Alvez was warning us not to panic if it was over 100 as it was likely to rise due to a catch up from a double bank holiday weekend. He'll be as pleased as the rest of us that it's under half what was predicted.

Cracking news this though, I expected a much bigger "spike" in deaths.

Unreal that cases have stayed extremely low too, albeit testing has come down a fair bit. The thing is PCR testing is low now too, down to 200k or so, which is a good sign as people are generally only getting PCR's when they have symptoms or have come into contact with the symptomatic. PCR's down from 300k to 200k over the last week or so.

• 7-day average for new deaths within 28 days of a positive test is 35.3% lower than one week ago (from 45.1% lower yesterday) and 61.2% lower than two weeks ago (from 64.4% lower yesterday and 60.8% lower 7 days ago)

I'm surprised the UK's coronavirus alert level remains at four.

Level four relates to transmission being high or rising exponentially which it isn't really.
