The 9am figures not disclosed yet?

To early to tell but is the 7 day average for new cases fixing to start levelling off at just under 8000?
Yes I was thinking that. Today's figure vs last Tuesday's figure is 'only' 27% higher.

I think on other days the respective increase has been significantly greater than that. 🤞

It may be because the NW vaccinations are beginning to take effect, so the area with the highest number of cases is tailing off. All other regions are rising, some more than others but from a lower base, but hopefully the final push for vaccination of 18-30 year olds gets us to the right place.

It does seem disappointing with lots of people eager to get their early second jab.
I just admit I was surprised how difficult they made it today. My sister tried the same thing but she was too nervous to cancel and rebook just in case she lost her first date. There’s simply no reason not to allow you to book an earlier date and that automatically cancels your other booking.

Oh my lord, its like nothing has changed. I'm sure if we look back at the beginning of this thread(last March), we were saying the same thing about the case numbers and hoping that today was the day cases don't rise and have plateaued.

What a shambles, still the vaccinations are the only thing that has been done well.

I'm not sure it's levelling off exactly, but the rate of increase does appear to be slowing slightly. Mean average daily increase in the past week has been 4.8% (median 4.3%), compared with 6.3% (median 6.9%) the week before.

It's unusual for the Tuesday figure to be down on the Monday figure.

As I understand it, the figures reflect the day before. Therefore figures on Sunday and Monday have typically been lower as the represent fewer cases being recorded over the weekend.
The Tuesday figure is therefore usually higher.

As has been said, its reading too much into a snapshot of data, but at least there is some grounds for optimism.

Yes, yes it was too early to tell :-( Weds seems to be a high watermark of the week but we could be looking at five figure case numbers again pretty soon.

Almost as many 1st doses as 2nd doses. Not sure that's the right ratio to be honest 🤔
