It's what I said in another thread. If we miraculously won the play-offs still, this team in the PL .. well, it would be embarrassing and that's being kind. We lose too many home games, especially against dross this season. That isn't a promotion side. We'll fall short, I think a finish between 10th-12th ..which is still progress considering last season, but still, flirting around the top six positions all season gave us a lot of hope and excitement. Just have to accept it, we aren't good enough right now.Tonight was a night when our best, senior players were poor. Really poor that first half. And I thought it was fairly even in the end, Bristol weren't that much better in my mind. Just too may individual poor performances from us. But hey, points lost, there's still a chance
But can you imagine if this team made the PO's and then accidentally got in the Prem. It could be Derby-esque hideous or worse considering the times, the finance we have and the actual squad. We have at most 4 (low level) Prem quality players. I'm pretty sure we don't have a great deal of cash to supplement that.
Post-Covid Championship footy will be interesting in August. I hope Knocker is still here
Are you saying here that the 10 players we have signed since NW took over are not really “his men” ?Doesn't that prove what an excellent manager we have at the club
If the worst happens & we finish outside the top 6 then next season he has the basis of a very good team, hopefully Gibbo gives him the green light to bring his men in
NW pretty much said exactly thatWe will be stuck with Akpom for the rest of his contract, no one else will be daft enough to bring him in.
We do have a good spine though, Fry, Mcnair, Bola, Dijksteel, Tav are very good players for this level. Just worry that as well as a striker, keeper and a CM we are likely to have to replace Kebano and Bolasie as well, and I dont think we have the money to do that.
Once its likely all over, we have to start building for next season. No point playing bettinelli, Britt, Kebano, NML, Bolasie, Fletcher knowing they wont be here next season, might as well give a few others a try when we have nothing to loose.
Your right Cardiff , he has brought his own players inAre you saying here that the 10 players we have signed since NW took over are not really “his men” ?
Too early to say on Bolasie and Mendez-Laing. I like the look of them but it's true, we are running out of games.Your right Cardiff , he has brought his own players in
Betinelli - poor
Fisher - decent
Hall - jury's out , injuries mean we haven't had the best out of him
Morsy - decent
Watmore - decent
Bolasie - jury's out , see Hall
Kebano - decent , with more to come
Mendez Laing - poor , but what did we expect , he is miles away fitness wise .
Akpom - poor , what a let down , to himself , us ,and Neil .
Roberts - what was the point ?
No getting away from it , this is HIS team , his choices .
He has said if we had Toney , Kazim Richards or Diedhiou we would have won games .
Well , he should have prioritised a striker in that mould , instead of filling gaps with players he doesn't like or can not do what he wants a striker to do .
Akpom , Bolasie and Laing being the main examples , no positive influence from any of them .
IMHO, Bolasie, Kebano, Mendez Laing, 3 players who were brought in to just to make up the numbers & won't be here next seasonYour right Cardiff , he has brought his own players in

The young lad Hackney had a cracking debut at Brentford & so far I don't think he's been involved, he looked a lot more of a prospect than Jones & FolarinSomeone mentioned we have a good spine - have to say I disagree strongly. Poor keeper, poor striker, average midfielder and a centre back who has blown hot and cold.
I would suggest we have a very poor spine
Yea NS, think he got a booking too, my MOTM that dayMidfielder isn’t he, Erimus?
