That must be the 'dream' done

Tonight was a night when our best, senior players were poor. Really poor that first half. And I thought it was fairly even in the end, Bristol weren't that much better in my mind. Just too may individual poor performances from us. But hey, points lost, there's still a chance

But can you imagine if this team made the PO's and then accidentally got in the Prem. It could be Derby-esque hideous or worse considering the times, the finance we have and the actual squad. We have at most 4 (low level) Prem quality players. I'm pretty sure we don't have a great deal of cash to supplement that.

Post-Covid Championship footy will be interesting in August. I hope Knocker is still here

You never know. I bet many thought the same about Sheff Utd and they had a great first season (not so great this season admittedly).

Agree with your points but as I say regarding comments about this team in the PL
You go up & strengthen, teams go up with money & make plenty of signings but still come down

Burnley & Sheff Utd in their 1st season are examples of the best plans & you stand a chance in the PL

So long as we are in touching distance you have to hope. 3 wins in our next three and things look very different.

We were absolutely woeful tonight which is a worry.

It seems to be 1 step forward, 1 step back and then steps no one can fathom! My point is we would we would be a disaster in the Prem. Norwich have a steady game plan, anyone else going up could be eaten up in the present climate. I hope Warnock stays for next season, we get some sort of parity and maybe we can do a Bournemouth/Sheff U or whatever

Oh your not wrong this team would get slaughtered in the prem 3 out of 4 games. A day out at Wembley it's always nice though.

Starting to think we are a million miles away from a playoff side. Not one striker is good enough for 15 gold, our best striker is injured, second best clearly doesn’t want to be here and Akpom has a 1/10 strike rate for this level and is clearly so far out of his depth.
Midfields average at best, very limited options, if one gets injured we’re in trouble, same situation in defence.
Probably have the worst keeper in the league, every game we see a mistake which usually costs a goal, would be shocked if we kept many more clean sheets this season, and the strikers clearly aren’t good enough to be scoring two every game, I’d be shocked if Akpom scored two more this season.

yeh we wont make the play offs but before the start of the season I would have been happy with an upper mid table end. And next year we can actually come back in person and watch the games and have a brilliant season

I don't think we're actually going to make the play-offs, but it's far from done.

If Cardiff win tomorrow, and I think they will, we're still 3 points off the play-offs with 42 points to play for.

Doesn't that prove what an excellent manager we have at the club

If the worst happens & we finish outside the top 6 then next season he has the basis of a very good team, hopefully Gibbo gives him the green light to bring his men in 👍

Aslong as his men are more like Watmore and Fisher and not Bettinelli and Akpom

It does, he has done a fantastic job.

Worth remembering though "his men" were Bettinelli, Morsey and his main target Akpom. Would forgive Gibson for not wanting to give him much to spend...

You could be right, but not one person on here shouted down Morsy when he signed, infact I recall posters were buzzing when we signed him & for me, he's been a good signing
Bettinelli & Akpom, no one knew anything about them, will either be here next season, probably not

We will be stuck with Akpom for the rest of his contract, no one else will be daft enough to bring him in.

We do have a good spine though, Fry, Mcnair, Bola, Dijksteel, Tav are very good players for this level. Just worry that as well as a striker, keeper and a CM we are likely to have to replace Kebano and Bolasie as well, and I dont think we have the money to do that.

Once its likely all over, we have to start building for next season. No point playing bettinelli, Britt, Kebano, NML, Bolasie, Fletcher knowing they wont be here next season, might as well give a few others a try when we have nothing to loose.

I was coming from the point that if he brought in the players he wants Akpom won't be a starter & may want to look elsewhere, just a thought mind
Yes agree with the spine, we need to be lucky in that we have players from within who coukd step up & compete
