NHS England apparently threatening medics with disciplinary action if they raise issues about lack of PPE. I do hope that is just nonsense.

The other one - According to Raaaaaab we have tested 900 NHS workers.
9 frickin hundred - there are around 1.5m of them out there.
It has to be gross negligence.
This thing has been around and coming since January.
 
No it cant be right. It would be headline news and a national disgrace if it was - so put that in the fake news drawer.

TBF I don't think all 1.5m are actually working on the frontline. Some of them are at home self-isolating like the rest of us.
 
Well I cant find any mention of it on Twitter and there enough on there including me to have made a fuss if it was true. No way it can be. And if it was Id be up in arms.
 
I am sure that there are morethan a few on here who have applied . Just waiting for my first job once I get a green light.
 
BBC saying that the government has said today that they won't hit their 25,000 testing target until the end of April.
They are just spouting lie after lie after lie.
 
It would be illegal for the employer not to address an employees concerns over the provision, supply, instruction and disposal of PPE - however, should an employee go direct to the media and not through the agreed process/policy (even if the employer has failed to carry out their duty) you may find yourself being asked for a please explain, as there could be a breach of the employers social media (if used) policy, or actions (of the employee) that have brought the company into disrepute.

of course the employee can resort to The 'whistleblowing' Act as a defence of those actions.

a helpful reminder would suffice - and if there is any basis to this story - its probably what they are trying to achieve across the country asap.

the union should make them (employer) see sense.

not least, because the citizens /should be in uproar given what the NHS staff are going through on all of our behalves.

Our local hospital had an incident where the union got involved because the management of one particular ward was banning the staff from using PPE. In case they frightened the patients.

That’s why I was checking - I first saw it on on Twitter

The other one is true 900 medics tested - that was from Raab.
That’s pretty rubbish as an understatement
 
Now I know we have a lot of time on our hands these days, but if statements with no real credibility that someone "saw on twitter" are to be put up for debate, then I think that pottering in the garden could be more informative.
 
The handling of this crisis is a national disgrace. There has been a complete failure to prepare for this virus, despite the clear warning signs many weeks earlier from other countries. This wasn’t a surprise attack like we faced during the Second World War, it was very clear it was coming. Look at the Germans in comparison and they have, and are dealing with the situation far better than us. They are testing more and earlier, catching cases early giving people a better chance of recovery. They are saving lives, we are going to lose god knows how many due to our failure to prepare - I believe the approach here was more focused on trying to save money rather than save lives

I didn’t put it up for debate. I put it up to see if there was any truth in it.

There is truth in how many medics have been tested - 900
Not sure how you debate that.
People can, should they wish, commend it or not
