That’s why players cheat

Absolutely love Cavani - in terms of ability probably the best there is in the Premier League currently. Wish he'd played here in his prime.

These millimetre decisions are to be put up with, but not too sure that VAR is all bad Erimus. Think of the Fry decision, we would surely have had a penalty, an opposing player sent off and won that game against Blackburn, And that game against Swansea , those couple of decisions which would have meant that we won the game and not Swansea.
I realise that those 6 points would not have turned everything around, but would have given Boro hope and drive to be up there still fighting. As it is, they demoralised us and we are now looking to stay in the top half of the table.

VAR didn’t give Newcastle a penalty when Tarkowski kicked Longstaff in the head, so probably wouldn’t have given Fry anything either.

The incident involving Longstaff (did the foot actually touch him ?) was minuscule compared to the kick on Fry's face which caused bleeding, bruising and took him out of the game - in fact he missed at least the next game too.

The reasons behind VAR are great. But until we get VARs who know what they're doing, then we'll continue to have ridiculous decisions.

Yesterday was comical.

Booting someone in the head at head height isn't a foul.

But putting your arm out to fend off a tackle (with no way shape or form of any intention other than to fend off the opposition player) is a foul?

The game is dead. It's absolutely dead at the moment.

And that's forgetting the offside decision at Fulham the other night. Absolutely bonkers.

I genuinely don’t think we would have any joy with VAR on the Fry decision because it only challenges decisions the ref has missed, which he didn’t miss he just thought somehow it was a fair challenge.
Supporters of VAR often bring up Maradonas hand of god goal as a reason why VAR is a positive thing, but it probably wouldn’t have overturned it anyway....they’d probably disallow Linekers goal though as one of his ears was a millimetre offside!
I‘m with Erimus, I think it’s the worst thing to happen to Football as a spectator sport in its 150 year histor.

I can live with VAR being unreliable, (so were refs pre-VAR,) but I can't stand it when a player scores and he and the fans daren't celebrate. Takes all the joy out of the game.
