That’s me off

That’s me guys, I’m off on my jollies To France for 6 weeks and not back until 28th August.

No doubt I will nip in to make sure hopesboro is behaving and post you a few pictures of me sipping wine on the lake.

1 point tomorrow, just to make sure. #UTB
Have a great time Norman (y)

Sat in the garden at the moment in Cambridge- staying here tonight and then on the Euro in the morning.

Rob - I have the boy on the job, watering system on all the plants and the Toms are coming on brilliant. It looks like my son will reap the benefits of them. 😜👍

Thanks for the best wishes lads.

Arrived at Niort around 4.39pm and had a reasonable drive down. Queuing traffic at Tours near pierrequiroule house 😜. I think cars slowed down to see if they could catch a glimpse of him. Anyway, he was elusive and only beautiful country could be seen.

I did warn you about that péage. :) I was actually in A&E all afternoon. Got bitten by a bug (possibly a tick) in the unmentionable, which came up like a balloon. Just about to ask the better half to rub some cortisone cream on it - there's always a silver lining.

Just done a fab ride climbing over 1000m in 60km - last 5k climbing over 500m. Punctured half way up too  French cyclists all just carried on when they saw me - with a courteous ‘bonjour’. In good old England someone would have stopped to make sure I had everything I needed.
Off for lunch in a lakeside restaurant shortly (when I’ve stopped sweating)

Norman - just arrived in time for the good weather. Up until yesterday it was all a bit grey.

You're lucky to get a 'bonjour' from roadies in France - they're worse than UK roadies for ignoring you and I speak as a former roadie. I acknowledge everybody no matter what they're riding, but then I do ride a pile of junk myself these days. Was hoping to treat myself to a decent bike for my 70th but the house move has eaten my limited dosh up again. :cautious:
