Just watched that clip from Quest, and i agree normally i dont like to see the crowding of the ref but yesterday there was many many bizarre decision from the ref and linesman over throw-ins/freekicks/corners that it was understandable why our players were annoyed when the big decisions then were called wrong!

Swansea only got the penalty in the first place because they crowded the ref.
Here he is giving a corner, they then all rush to him and coerce him in to changing his decision.

So it's a bit rich to complain about Middlesbrough players for counterprotesting.

In slow motion I agree it was not a pen - when I first saw it on SSN I was 50/50 in normal speed and from the normal camera angle. It was clear straight away on SSN that he ref had given a corner until the Swansea players surrounded him.

Ali McCoist was following our game on SSN and for our first goal he said it was a clear bad decision.

No, those two guys are right. Players should not crowd the ref yelling at him. Delegate the captain to speak to the ref, but crowding him like that looks awful, it's a bad example, and it sure as hell doesn't endear MFC to referees.

If Swansea's players hadn't crowded the ref, it would have rightly been a corner, and we'd have got a completely deserved point.
