Terry Cochrane - 70 years of age today

I used to sit in the terrace seats near the managers huts so close to the pitch and the arguments Terry And David Hodgson had were easily audible ..... Crowd pleaser on his day more direct than Jones with a much better end product

When we signed in 1978 our form suddenly turned. Such an exciting player, he was not cheap at the time, £220k about half of the record British transfer league at the time (Kenny Dalglish @ £450k?). Today that would be £50m.

He even quietened the infamous Chicken Run moaners on the South Terrace at Ayresome Park.

I felt really sorry for what happened to him @ South Bank AFC - the area had been truly left to rot and had left a lot of the people who lived there desperate and depressed and in some cases destructive.

As Erimus 74 is no longer posting here I'll mention his outstanding debut v Norwich in 1978, socks round his ankles and teasing the full back. Our record signing too and to a nine year old, great to see an entertainer at the Boro. One of my first Boro heros and remember him scoring for Northern Ireland against England at Wembley too!

Swansea was unforgettable. A makeshift m/f, we looked there for the taking and MotD thought so too.

TC has something in common with Isaiah Jones. Both played for Tooting and Mitcham.
