Teeveeing (tvmucho replacement) - uk free to air tv worldwide

A bit of a specialist post. For expats and others who want access to a legal tv service when abroad.

This is about a bit of a niche product. Replacing a product developed by people who fought (and may still be fighting) for the right to show British (and other) free to air tv abroad.

There used to be a service called tvmucho. It has very recently closed. With a new app called teeveeing having been created.

The teeveeing app is available in the Google Play Store. In the past I believe that tvmucho had various copyright battles with tv channels. Where their app was temporarily removed from the Play Store. Then reinstated.

It looks like teeveeing is classed as a legal tv service. It says it is in it's blurb on their website.

I had been using tvmucho for a few years now and am now using teeveeing.

Tvmucho had a 7 day catch up service on all channels. Plus options for a user to record certain specific programmes on a cloud storage service. So these selected programmes were available for more than 7 days.

A while ago they lost a legal battle about the all channel 7 day catch up service. They had to remove that item from their product. I think this was to do with users not having to do anything to be able to see programmes from all channels for up to 7 days after they had been broadcast.

On the new teeveeing service the user has to choose to activate the catch up service on a maximum of 8 channels. My guess is that this is probably deemed legal as the user has had to take action to identify what they want to watch. Like when people used to record stuff on video recording systems. Rather than having all programmes from all channels available on tap from catch up for every user.

Anyway, I feel that tvmucho was and teeveeing is a reasonably priced service. I also feel that perhaps it is something that some people on here might think about using. For the increased chance of the product bring stable.

The app is new and they have just found a small bug in how you close the app. If you try out their free trial you can exit the app using the home button. Using the back button when on the start screen only works sometimes for some reason.

Fyi - I was using the android app for teeveeing when this bug was found. It may not be there in other ways of access to teeveeing.

I am sure teeveeing will fix this bug soon. Plus the home button is a work around.

My experience of tvmucho was their support service was ok and the developers developed changes and fixes reasonably quickly.

Teeveeing have already told me they acknowledge the bug and are developing the fix.
