Reading the Gazette today it states that eventually 775 jobs will be created on this site. However that is going to cast £393 million which seems high for the number of jobs it will create. That's a cost of over £507,000 per job. When you think of the numbers that worked there at the closure of the Steelworks never mind in its heyday it doesn't seem much of a return. I dare say if the Government had stumped up that amount at the time we still might have the Steelworks.

Per the teesworks website the ultimate aim is a lot higher..
'The South Tees Development Corporation has today (10 July) submitted game-changing plans for a 4.5million sq ft of state-of-the-art manufacturing space on the site of the former SSI steelworks in Redcar, which will create 9,000 jobs.'

Maybe just poor reporting by the gazette
