Teesside Together - Tickets for next home games

Surely that's part of the high cost of the ticket price?

I'm not asked to pay an extra quid when I shop at Tesco, why when I shop with the Boro

Your argument about asking them to work for nothing is b***ks.
Im afraid you seem to have you no idea how ticketing systems works - the club will not own and run the ticketing system. They will outsource it to a separate firm, just as venues, promoters etc do.

The ticket price is irrelevant to SEE Tickets, Ticketmaster etc etc who charge their fees on tickets and that's how they make their money. The full price of the ticket goes to the organiser.

For info MFC outsource to Seatgeek.

That for me us an issue for the club and their outsourcing costs should be part of the ticket price.

I understand ticketing very well thanks, I also understand business pushing a cost on. Many tickets that I buy and print off at home bear no extra cost. Why is that?

My perspective.

I think Boro (and perhaps other clubs) have really misjudged the "mood music" this season.

We are the second most expensive club in the Championship (behind Bournemouth) - and there will be many many people who would like to go to games but will be unable to afford it - that undoubtedly a fact.

However, there will be other people (and i include myself in this) who probably could afford it but will choose not to go anymore. I have been to a ton of local non-league games in the last year (Northern League, etc) - and the truth be told, I enjoy the experience a lot more. Its £4 - £6 to get in - you can have a pint whilst watching the match, you can park more easily etc. No need to plan everything a week in advance, and worry that a game will get moved for TV either.

There will be others like me who have just started watching football at another level and Boro havent done anything/enough to entice me/us back. I am really sad about that. Last season was the first since 1976/7 that I have not seen the Boro live (because of the Covid) - but with the exception of odd away games to meet up with mates etc, I might not be back at all now.

Part financial, but more about the "experience" not being much fun.

Well the first point is up for discussion. We are all already saying ticket prices are too high but now you want the club to do something that would make the cost even higher? Or just suck up the cost themselves? That is possible to do.

Chances are if you have bought a ticket online and paid no service or booking fee then the promoter has chosen to set the ticket price higher so that the costs are met by the promoter. That is possible to do but few and far between do that but all it does is make the ticket price higher than it needs to be just to make the purchaser feel like he's getting a good deal.

Either the promoter or the purchaser pays the fee - the supplier (SEE etc) don't work for nothing.

Hence the high price for Boro match tickets?

Probably looking at £100 if someone wanted to take the family, how can that be justified in an area like ours? Little wonder the ground is half empty the majority of the time.
Hope people get themselves down to some local non league instead and support the clubs that need the money

Possibly a contributing factor - if you went on SEE tickets now to buy a ticket that costs £29 you'd pay £2.90 fee per ticket & a processing fee as well which makes Boro's £1 per ticket seem reasonable.

Its possible to have different options for fees with different agencies and the bigger the promoter/organiser the more options they will have. I'm going out now but will try & screenshot some of the different options available later.

But that's not Boro's £1 per ticket, is it?

I've just tried to buy 2 tickets, as I always have done, but I'm getting this message:

The quantity of tickets owned by TheYorkshireTerrier exceeds our 1 ticket per person limitation.

To resolve, make sure you have the necessary people in your 'My Friends & Family' within your profile and assign the tickets to individual owners by clicking on the ticket owner name.

Since when was this a thing?

Boro are they same a the vast majority of clubs and quite clearly not learned anything from having empty stadiums for well over a year. Fans should not be charged the prices clubs charge.
They are that far from reality it's laughable.
£10-£15 in reality is all an adult should pay to watch any football match and around £5 for a child. FANS FORUMS NEED TO DO MORE TO PUSH THE PRICING ISSUE.
But aslong as the players still get there thousands a week stuff the fans. That's been the attitude for to long
Spot on.

I was hoping that with stadiums been empty for a year that football clubs would take a long hard look at themselves and re evaluate ticket pricing.

They're restricting tickets to one per Boro reference. I wonder if anyone on here has an idea how to buy for a group, family, as I'm trying to do!

Looks like you just 'My Friends & Family' in your profile section. I've just managed to add one person for my tickets, it's pretty simple but you need their home address and email. Also need to know whether they do or don't already have an online account for the Boro website.

My season ticket in the NW upper cost me £420 or £18 per game.

Someone buying a ticket in the same block today would pay £530 or £23 per game.

A matchday walk up ticket costs £29.

Match tickets are too high which ever option you choose, not just at the Boro but everywhere.

Perhaps this is something the Supporters Forum should be putting pressure on the club about?
Absolutely. It’s been mentioned plenty of times before to the supporters forum as a point for discussion. Still nowt

No absolutely not but at £1 ticket rather than £2.90 via See etc for a concert ticket it is more reasonable.

At the end of the day Seetgeek or who ever will charge a fee unless MFC or the promoter absorbs the fee into the ticket price, in which case you still pay it!

It cost more than £1 to send a ticket in the post! .....be fair those that are complaining about £1 for away game tickets etc.

If you live locally and go to the stadium or go on match day for a home game, you don't pay a booking fee and you can put in on a credit card without a fee too.

My local theatre charges £2.50 booking fee even if you buy from the Box Office in person. I don't agree its fair, but they do it and say it is common practice with theatres.

Ref Non league v Championship - my local second tier non league team charges £15 to sit and £13 to stand - non league can be expensive too. The facilities and standard of football is less than 50% of the Riverside. For a seat season ticket its currently £322 in the main stand.

As said before something needs to done about young child prices for walk ups. £17 is not on.

does this mean I can't buy a ticket for a young nephew unless he is also registered, I doubt he even has an email tbh

If your nephew has 70 points you can buy him a ticket but he needs to be registered with an account and be in your Friends & Family Group.

£17 really isn't on. It isn't just the ticket prices. It cost me £140 last week to get my two boys (aged 8 and 6) the new home kit. The club seem out of touch with reality.
