Teesside politics

This feels like it should be a much much bigger story than it currently is.
Hopefully it’s going to get the coverage it deserves. Although that’s not likely, given the jumbo fancy dress party that’s dominating the news.

I know the FT are sniffing about, the Yorkshire post has employed an investigative journalist especially for this, Private Eye has been onto it for a while, now Sam Coates a national journalist for Sky is sniffing about, this is about to get big.

Re count Tuesday ?
How long does it take to do a count like ?
It's not as if there were thousands to count....

Once Johnson became PM it created a behavioural and moral vacuum that was the perfect storm for self serving chancers to grift their way into positions way beyond their capabilities.

Turner has all to predictably failed to meet every pledge he made in his PCC manifesto, crime figures have risen and the way he was selected to run for council seems to be outside every selection process other would be councillors have to follow.

His connections with more high profile local Conservative's have served him well and he's certainly made a little go a long way, but everything he does or is involved has some taint, police cautions, right wing rally's, lots of accusations of abuses of power, unexplained sackings from several positions, stories of inappropriate behaviour, I could go on.

Like Johnson it's not his politics that are the problem but his character flaws, lack of professionalism, his dissonance between his belief in himself and his ability, he's out of his depth in a fairly shallow pool.

I must admit the send vote counters home for 3 days, is very fishy to me. I haven't heard anything like this before.

Houtchen responds.

Doesn't deny that land was sold for £96.79, which the Land Registry seems to say it was, instead intimates that the land was not 'valuable'. Says there will be 2000+ jobs and the public will get £££ back. Slags off Andy McDonald and says he would be in court for defamation if he had made his allegations outside Parliament, but why then has he not indicated that he is sueing Private Eye for what they have said?

A Tory spitting his dummy out, accusing Andy McDonald of abusing parliamentary privilege....... couldn't make it up could you?

Houchen also should realise his masters will likely be out on their ar*e next year, so be easy for a new government to conduct a proper investigation.

Oops.

He also used a 7 year old article in the Echo as a defence.

Questions have started being asked and he's bricking it.
