Given the choice of driving to Birmingham or London and staying there for a getaway and going to Paris for a getaway, it's a fairly easy call. Why not wait until they play in the UK?

Looks like we are having a rare visitor at Teesside today. A 747 doing training for a few hours. I bet the EG will be creaming over.
What time roughly, any idea?Looks like we are having a rare visitor at Teesside today. A 747 doing training for a few hours. I bet the EG will be creaming over.
Yep. I'd be all over the Birmingham gigGiven the choice of driving to Birmingham or London and staying there for a getaway and going to Paris for a getaway, it's a fairly easy call.

Just out of interest Steve. Generally, will freight be incoming and outgoing and where will it be going to/coming from? It's training for Cargo I'll be in for it Can't wait but don't think I've got the cahonees to Marshall it in though
If our rail network was any good we wouldn’t really need than many domestic flight routes.Far from not wanting it to succeed, I'm just not surprised that it hasn't given the commercial case.
As an aside, for a country of our size we do have a lot of airports (too many?) Interesting that some of the Scandinavian airports are removing flights where a train is 3-4 hours or less. Might be beneficial for us to do so to?
Train to London should be how to get there but there's been several times in the past where it's been cheaper to fly there. Crazy really.Far from not wanting it to succeed, I'm just not surprised that it hasn't given the commercial case.

Our rail network pricing is ridiculous. It should be like the Netherlands. Set price for a set distance. The

Looking to fly to Alicante at the end of the month. January 29th, flying from Newcastle with Jet2, is £317 (inc suitcase and booking seats). January 27th, flying from Teesside with Ryanair (inc suitcase and seats) is £116! OK, Jet2 is a weekend with early morning flights, Ryanair is Friday night getting in at 23.05 but that’s a big difference in price.
No flights going out on Saturday 28th from Newcastle. Also none on the Sunday now. Looks like the price of that Ryanair flight will be going up soon!A lot of price matching just comes down to what you pick on your comparison sites and then which airline has availability on the given days.
If you travelled on the Saturday, there are more options from Newcastle so a lot cheaper than the Sunday.
OK, just realised Ryanair fly from Newcastle to Alicante on the Saturday as well as Jet2. Still £26 more than Teesside though! No flights going out on Saturday 28th from Newcastle. Also none on the Sunday now. Looks like the price of that Ryanair flight will be going up soon!
