Teesside Airport - more route cuts

It's training for Cargo I'll be in for it Can't wait but don't think I've got the cahonees to Marshall it in though
Just out of interest Steve. Generally, will freight be incoming and outgoing and where will it be going to/coming from?

Far from not wanting it to succeed, I'm just not surprised that it hasn't given the commercial case.

As an aside, for a country of our size we do have a lot of airports (too many?) Interesting that some of the Scandinavian airports are removing flights where a train is 3-4 hours or less. Might be beneficial for us to do so to?

Not 100% sure on the touch and goes I know Willis will be handling it I'm guessing it'll be grounded as they'll be doing practice runs

Yes the from the little training I've done so far it'll be inbound and outbound and atm from all over Europe. We've had cargo flights coming from Europe but they just little planes with not much on them just specialist's parts

If our rail network was any good we wouldn’t really need than many domestic flight routes.

The KLM numbers will rise as the flight times are now suiting all the lads travelling to Kazakhstan rather than having to use Newcastle.

Train to London should be how to get there but there's been several times in the past where it's been cheaper to fly there. Crazy really.

Looking to fly to Alicante at the end of the month. January 29th, flying from Newcastle with Jet2, is £317 (inc suitcase and booking seats). January 27th, flying from Teesside with Ryanair (inc suitcase and seats) is £116! OK, Jet2 is a weekend with early morning flights, Ryanair is Friday night getting in at 23.05 but that’s a big difference in price.

A lot of price matching just comes down to what you pick on your comparison sites and then which airline has availability on the given days.

If you travelled on the Saturday, there are more options from Newcastle so a lot cheaper than the Sunday.

No flights going out on Saturday 28th from Newcastle. Also none on the Sunday now. Looks like the price of that Ryanair flight will be going up soon!

OK, just realised Ryanair fly from Newcastle to Alicante on the Saturday as well as Jet2. Still £26 more than Teesside though!

If you have the flexibility for when you're flying, you can cherry pick really good flights from Teesside. Just need to bring in a few more destinations.
