If they're out for most of or all of the possible 3 games then Carrick and the team aren't going to broadcast it as opponents will factor this into their plans.

If they're on the verge of coming back, the coaching team still won't give any inclination for the reason above. Carrick also is unlikely to even put them on the bench for this match with much less riding on it, again for fear of revealing his hand.

It's almost certain we won't know a great deal until the matchday squad is revealed an hour before our first leg in the playoff semi, which is a pain in the ar$e for us fans, but it's for the greater good so I approve of it.

If someone is out for the season, it would not be possible to keep that information secret for weeks. The club would announce it if say Fry, Ramsay and Forss are out for the season.

I don't think they would. If I was MC I certainly wouldn't.
