I never knew Lyn Davies was a school teacher (or you lived in Cardiff for that matter). Certainly when he retired from athletics after Munich 72 he became head of UK athletics.

Yes. He'd just started before the Olympics (in Bridgend).

From an interview: "I was a fully qualified teacher at the time and about to begin a role with Bridgend Grammar School so I had to ask for time off straight away."
