Yeah if I was gonna go 4 at the back I would bring Moukoudi in as he has that added height. We lost so many headers.

I really wish we had a player could cross, the amount of crossing positions we are getting into then just waste it is a disgrace.

Johnson was poor, but I think Coulson is worse as a defender. Neither played well.
I doubt Bola will play ahead of either.

You could see Warnock was really frustrated with Johnson 2nd half when he got into a great position and over-hit the cross. If he'd just have got his head up he'd have seen there were several players he could have picked out.

I'm starting to think that Coulson is more effective at LB/LWB. He's similar to Spence in that he's effective when he picks up the ball from a deep position and drives forward. He looked lost today and kept coming central to try and get involved in the game.

I agree with this. He’s best when he’s got time and space. In tight areas on the edge of the box when he has to make a split decision is where the game looks difficult for him. I think they are both natural wing backs. Not wingers and not full backs, just pure natural wing backs, they were born for a 3 5 2 formation. We need to utilise that in the next game.
 
johnson giving free kicks away at the back constantly, big risk at the back playing him and spence when we defend its like playing with no full backs covering the centre halfs in the box

Bola is a dreadful footballer. A fullback that doesn’t track back?

Stojanovic hasn’t impressed me much.. I’d get Pears back in.

Spence is injured, so I’d expect Howson to Keep his place at right back.

Assombalonga was pretty full of himself for a £15m striker he needs the support of Fletcher to make him look half decent.

Coulson at left back and Tav to start are decent shouts.

For me, I think he needs to stick to a solid starting 11 week in week and week out from now on in. Chopping and changing players can’t help.

Stojanovic, I would stick with him for now because of his height. he hasn’t been to blame for any goal yet imho.

Spence and Coulson as wing backs for me. Johnson is too clumsy and gives too many daft free kicks away, although Coulson gets awol sometimes when out of possession.

3 CB’s for me
Fry
Moukoudi for height in both boxes
Friend over Shotton, just, but a tough call. neither that competent at CB

Howson, our only quality footballer. He is worthy of the phrase Rolls Royce (at our level)
Saville, has ability, tries hard, but not value for money, lacks consistency but has to start for now.
McNair, not sure he really wants to be here. A player who coasts at times, seems to play within himself and probably thinks he is better than he is. Hasn’t fulfilled his so called potential. so I’d possibly bench him and sell in summer.
Wing, has a good shot, capable of a decent pass, but as I said on another thread lollops about the pitch like a Mancunian on spice. Much more needed, I doubt he will make the grade, so only play if needs must.
Tav, keen as mustard, has a decent shot, has decent energy, lacks a bit of pace but he gives his best, but gets caught in possession a bit too often. He needs to interchange with Roberts for me so we always have some creativity on the pitch at any one time
Roberts is our main creative spark a must start. Decision making at times is poor mind, but hopefully with game time it improves.
Fletcher, our best finisher, a bit lightweight, does not offer much outside of finishing but a must start
Assombalonga, an enigma, if he was anymore laid back he‘d be asleep, has ability but lacks drive and aggression, has to start though

3-5-2/5-3-2

Stick with more or less the same starting 11 of players save for substitutions and injury and hope for a bit of consistency and luck.

Given we play 6 cup finals in 17 days, I dont think its plausible to keep the same 11 for each game.

Every game I have watched, with the exception of Man City, the players look buggered after 60 mins and it will only get worse.
