I'm not trying to start an argument I'm just really curious.

We have a few people on here who go out of the way to defend Alexander Johnsons "Boris" Character. Can you explain why? what motivates you to do that? With all the court cases, stories of corruption, proven lies and even a murky and cheating private life, what are you seeing? What are we missing about "Boris" that makes you defend him? I'm genuinely curious.

IT's because he reflects their own personal moral compass.
I hope it's not that. I fully suspect it's because of spin and a skewing of the narrative by large sections of the media but it would be nice to know from the defenders of Boris

Nothing wrong with him, it’s the left wing trying to push their woke agenda on the rest of us (whatever that means) by publishing these stories
He has almost been able to reinvent himself as that lovable bloke down the pub who’s everyone’s mate. Which is incredible considering he was born into wealth, had everything handed to him in life, and hates everything to do with the working classes.
That, and he got Brexit done.

I personally dont see that many people defending his character, they just are willing to put up with the bad bits given he has promised to deliver for them and dont see a viable alternative in the opposition right now.

He did 'get brexit done' as promised - we left. The fact its been a bit of a disaster so far has passed them by as they havent personally felt any of the effects.

He has promised 'jobs jobs jobs' and we have a freeport - god alone knows how it will operate or if there will be any benefits beyond the wind turbine plant who knows?

The vaccine roll out has been a success - the fact its down to the NHS and not him personally has also passed people by - although I will say that ordering massive amounts of vaccine was a good idea, the financial costs of which however we may never really know.

What we also need to remember is that the vast majority of people dont take an active daily interest in politics or what the govt is up to. Consequently there arent that many stories that cut through and change opinions - the last one was the Cummins Barnard castle trip - nothing since then

Boris will continue to be popular as long as he continues to 'deliver' in the minds of average voters - the fact he hasnt delivered very much at all so far will be tested as time goes on

there are plenty defending him, and surely leadership requires the correct character. If a man is prepared to have an affair while his wife is at chemo, showing such selfishness, so little regard for his wifes health, so little regard for his family doesn't that expose something about his character? Doesn't that tell you he takes what he wants and discards what he doesn't and one day you will on the end of that discarding list?

Culture flows from the top down and having a dangerous narcissist in the hot seat gives carte blanche for selfishness, for greed, for I'm alright jack attitudes, for lack of empathy. Culture always flows downhill and Johnson is setting this country backwards.

Brexit - yes he got it done, but not as he promised, because there are many outstanding problems, such as Northern Ireland and access to the european market and dover, and fishing and farming etc. etc. Only a luddite would claim he got it done as he promised.

"jobs jobs jobs" - how many jobs have been created in this freeport so far? None, lets wait and see and also take a holistic look at the impact across numerous performance indicators. Creating jobs is no good if it loses twice as many jobs in other sectors or if the jobs are low quality and low pay, or if it decimates teh tax revenue impacting the NHS, Police funding. Again your view is based on assumptions and simplification. That is the problem, the devil is in the detail and the general public are too lazy to analyse the detail.

Vaccine roll out -- yes a success, but we have one of the worst covid death rates and worst impacted economies in the world. The governments pandemic response has been farcical and lets not forget corrupt.

Those who became obsessed with leaving the EU , despite not giving a monkeys about it 5 years ago see him as the brexit saviour, despite the fact he's a remainer at heart who just saw a opportunity.
The same people are still fighting the brexit battle with those Labour remoaners despite the fact we have left and can't seem to move on .
Oh and many hold the same views as him, "he's only saying what we are all thinking " .
I can only assume they share the same moral compass too and see nothing wrong with him.

Im not arguing against any of your points - i completely agree.

All Im saying is most people are either not noticing or dont care.

I do think the personal conduct issues about him having affairs etc are not going to cut through to most people - Im old enough to remember David Mellor resigning for having an affair whilst wearing a Chelsea top. Thats just not going to happen these days as most people simply dont care about that stuff anymore.

Three words Got Brexit Done. It doesn't matter to many of those voted leave that it's been a shambles so far. They just see those three words and don't care about any of the other stuff.
That's what my Tory voting sister-in-law told me.
That's really worrying isn't it? Regardless of what you feel of Brexit (I, personally, am not a big fan). For someone to be able to garner so much power on a single issue. And to use it to get away with all manner of corruption and cronyism on the back of it

It's pretty easy Austerity, corruption and tax breaks for the very rich Vs investment, less corruption and more for the everyman
If it's so easy why are they in power with an 80 seat majority?? Is everyone else in the country not as clever as you?? All I see is the lockdown party versus the harder, stricter, longer lockdown party and I don't see how ruining our kids education and future and putting millions of people on the dole is good for the 'everyman'.

Because clowns believe your original ridiculous statement

They're not 'all the same'. It's a lazy remark made by those who voted for him.

Wow. This is a pretty disturbing comment really

I never voted for him and never will but I am also finished with the Labour party too.
