Tav - so I'll ask it again...

Rob what does that comment answer. You cannot keep sticking up for players like Tav who has been woeful all season.
woeful is over the top, he's playing well below his ability level but he's not Nicky Bailey, Jacob Butterfield or Josh McEchrean level. HE needs his confidence rebuilding, much of the season he was played out of position and his form suffered.

We beat a team that looked to be running away to promotion in a tremendous contest. Which team were you supporting?
No one is beyond criticism. maybe the best supporters are those who don't support no matter what. Tav is not playing well. We all want him to improve.
To be honest I don't think I have ever seen any criticism from you about anyone at MFC. Even Gary Monk days and even now when it has become clear that Warnock has been proved to be a bad choice to be MFC manager when Wilder has vastly improved the same set if players that Warnock had.

But I understand your position.
When you post on matters MFC which is rare.Maybe you should have a signature which declares your conflict of interest. But then again 99% of us are well aware.

He was as always superb defensively. Has a brilliant engine, won lots of tackles and if you look objectively was involved in lots of out threatening moments. We all know his finishing isn't good enough but when you cover so much ground it's hard to be relaxed in those positions.

He's a box to box midfielder and if he can start taking some of those chances will make you happy as he will move on to bigger but not better things.

Nothings better than the Boro.

This 100%. He is great transitioning into defence. Which is probably lost on most people. He has to play box-to-box to pick up possession and move us on. But he is incredibly frustrating when we are going forward. Wilder said early days that we needed to think more like a team in the final third and I got the feeling it was aimed at Tav. Amazing young talent that gets a bit carried away. I am sure it will click. It’s just how long can you give the guy?

Tavs scored 1 in 20. Butterfield scored 3 in 30 ;)

Just watched the highlights from the game and even though he didn't have a great game he was still involved in a few of our best chances - as much as any player, bar Jones.

He was nowhere near as bad as some of the posts on here suggest, that's for sure.

Which ones?

Not been confrontational there btw mate, can't remember him being involved (directly anyway), and haven't had chance to see the highlights.

The problem is it feels like we are still waiting for some moment where it just clicks for him and he reaches his potential but I think he is probably at the peak of his ability now and for me, is he good enough, not for me unfortunately, every time we get a free kick and him and Paddy line up, I am sat thinking ‘please not Tav’.

High energy player who's creative and plays with a big heart. Young and still a lot to learn in those final stages up front in and around the box. Sometimes we expect too much from our own. He's still a work in progress and needs encouraging from the moaners out there, get off his back. Remember when we used to really get behind a player when they made a mistake or two, it's called being a 'supporter'.

I'd have to watch it again, but the two that spring to mind are the shot from Sporar that was tipped over the bar and the disallowed Hernandez goal.

He's 22 and you don't think he'll improve? Most midfielders don't hit their peak until closer to 30 these days.

On the freekick subject, it must be a confidence thing because we know he can hit the ball well and the manager wouldn't have him on free kicks if he didn't show it in training?

We need to have a bit of patience with him, he's a massive asset and a perfect fit for a CW team.

Tav is undoubtedly a talent, glad he's our player, he may not be o form just now but I'm really looking forward to seeing this team when he's in full flow will be exciting to watch.
The fact wilder is picking him is fine , though whether he will as he puts his jigsaw together time will tell

Tavs time at Boro is 14 goals in 86 starts, before this season 13 goals in 66 starts.....so like I said he is playing below his ability and isn't in the same ballpark of crapness as Butterfield
