Isn't Jones left-footed? As far as I can tell, Warnock's wheeze is to play with inverted wingbacks who like to cut in onto their natural foot so that an overlapping central defender can go wide and cross it. Or something like that.We have tried him on the right wing and central, why not try him on the left wing , as he IS left footed ?
That would allow one of the right footed wingers ( Jones , Hernandez, Watmore ) to play RW , and one of Watmore or Hernandez to play as a no10 behind Sporar.
Play square pegs in square holes .
To his credit, Jones has a good right foot and is really dangerous on the left because he can take his man on the outside and cross or cut in and shoot.
Hernandez has spent most of his career on the right wing and is pretty indifferent at crossing with his left foot.
Although Tav is left footed he has never looked comfortable playing wide on the left though I believe he may have started his career as a left back.
Watmore is really a right winger. He doesn't seem to have the range of passing to play the number 10 role.
Payero looks lost as a number 10. Superb as a hard pressing centre/right midfielder with a good range of passing from the right.
I agree with your general point though. Warnock seems to be playing with two narrow wingers/wingbacks which only really works if there is someone behind them who can overlap. Howson did that quite well when he played RB and Bola could do the same on the left.
