Alex Lewczuk and myself are putting together a series of short podcasts around the revival of Middlesbrough Old Town Hall in St Hildas.

A decade after the building of the new town of Middlesbrough a new town hall was designed and erected above the busy throng of the first streets. After standing derelict for many years it has finally been subject of a successful lottery bid to be revistalised and repurposed and once again telling the time in the north part of the town. Alexex and myself are interviewing many of those involved in the project, architect, historians and also capturing memories of years gone by from the former community.
This is our first episode - we hope you like it..

I finally got round to having a listen to your podcast, Rob - really enjoyed it. Only 20 minutes as well, so easy for people to dip into. There are some great videos on the council site about St Hilda’s too:

Any idea when episode two is out?
Publishing second part for very early 2026 - we were waiting for work to commence on the Old Town Hall - got a couple of interviews lined up first and see how they work out - may get something out in 2025 if really good. But the idea is to be more frequent once the boulding works begin.
