.

We would normally have 2 or 3 per month with Indian being our favourite and then Chinese. I wouldn't dream of getting a parmo for a take away - the wife can make them just as good if not better.

Since the lockdown, we have only had one on my sons birthday (31/05). I can cook a decent Masala and have been eating this instead and we also got a really good recipe for a pork noodle Chinese whilst watching the Hairy Bikers - That is worth a go. I also do a mean jambalaya and all of these meals have been the highlight of our week.

Saying that, I have just been upstairs to put on my work trousers and I struggled to fit into them.

I think I need to get back to basic meals and small portions. :ROFLMAO:

The worst was working away and staying in a B&B

This - it's very difficult to eat healthily (either through availability or resisting temptation) if you're away from home for 2 or 3 nights a week .... not that that's an issue at the moment

We have never eaten out or had takeaways that much. In the past for financial reasons. More recently out of habit.

Occasionally after golf we have a Thai red chicken curry from our local Irish bar. That is about it.

Probably something like 4 times a year for us. It's not really a convenient option where we live, and prefer home made food generally.
Not preaching as people can do what they like but is imagine even one a week is a massive excess calories and salt intake. I wouldn't personally feed our young kids takeaway, so it's a bit depressing when you find out some are fed this way most nights

Franchised pizza outlet - Hot n Spicy (no onions), cheesy garlic wedges and chilli sauce
Local pizza outlet - chicken parmo, chips and either garlic or chilli sauce depending on what I fancy
Chinese - beef in black bean sauce, egg fried rice and some spare ribs
Indian - chicken madras, pilau rice and plain naan
Chippy by the sea - fish and chips with loads of salt and vinegar
Local chippy - jumbo sausage and chips with loads of salt and vinegar
KFC - zinger box meal with 2 extra hot wings
BK - XL bacon double cheeseburger meal (large with diet coke)
Subway - Italian BMT (pepperoni, salami and ham) on Italian bread - lettuce, jalapenos and green peppers with hot chilli sauce
McDonald's - only if KFC or BK is unavailable - Large Big Mac meal with mozzarella dippers
Is that a year?

No, you need to get back to work!

Not had one since lockdown. Wouldn't say no, might have one for my birthday but I've not massively missed it. Before lockdown maybe 2 a month?

As for people claiming they can't cook. I've never understood this. It's not hard is it? It's just following instructions. Loads of meals are pretty simple.

Cooking really well might be hard. Cooking competently is a piece of cake unless you're an idiot or lazy. The internet makes it even easier, you can just Google it.

I do remember my mate at uni asking me how to cook pasta. Erm it's written on the packet eejit.

I was no good at cooking at all, it didn't even register, until I read THIS which I can honestly say changed my life!

We now tend to have them around once or sometimes twice a month now. The Thai red curry mentioned earlier is still a favourite.

We have added something called a Gourmet Burger. Served with caramelised onion, goats cheese and great, thick, skin on chips.

The most recent is a shoulder of lamb big enough to share between two people.20231201_195820.jpg
