The swear filter is required for the advertisers I believe. Google basically.
If you feel the need to consistently use multiple profanities in your writing then it does indicate a severe lack of vocabulary. I'd hope that persistent offenders would be banned. The board rules are there for a reason so we should endeavor to follow them for the benefit of everyone.
Willis?Do you have to use so many cuss words?
What the **** you talking about?
Maybe Rob has better information than I. Personally, I prefer not to read stuff that's littered with profanity ... despite being a foul mouthed oik myself. It's fine when it's well placed ... can be funny etc... but I'd prefer it without. Plus you have to be a bit more creative when making substitutions (ie feck), which tends to make usage more selective. And I'm not sure that holding Sunderland fans up as role models works for me.
Dood - it doesn’t indicate a severe lack of vocabulary at all.
Didn’t know there were Board rules around swearing - if there are, I’ll gladly follow
It’s not as binary as that though is it? Same as how we can now have images and gifs and embedded media but it hasn’t become CoB in the few weeks it’s gone live like everyone used to proclaim would happen. What makes CoB be CoB is the people that post there.
I hear swearing all day every day - friends, family, it’s on tv, it’s in films, at work etc - you definitely hear it in tbe match and the concourse, then on here don’t swear because people will get offended But you can just use words that rhyme with it or use special characters so everyone knows what word was said.
