Suspected remains of Keith Bennett found on Moors

A very good take on it, I thought, by Mike Harding...

Was literally talking go our eldest last night about the horrific murders committed by Brady and Hindley. To see this news this morning is really good as we also talked about the fact that this poor little boy was never found.

Hope it's him and he can be laid to rest with his mum.

I really don't understand why people think this is an opportunity to re-live the horrors of what happened and a chance for an outpouring of hatred and bile against 2 individuals that are dead and gone and very definitely shouldn't be remembered.

It's about one thing .......... hopefully to give a little lad a decent burial and a place where his surviving family can go to remember him without reliving his murder. Everything else is just noise.

Exactly which is why I’ll never refer to them by name.

Much as I would like to think that this horrific and tragic story was finally moving towards some kind of resolution, this may turn out to be a false dawn, as Keith Bennett's brother Alan has already said.

According to a police statement in the Grauniad article below, the only evidence suggesting a body might be present, was not an actual skull, as many reports had stated, but rather:

what experts working with the informant have interpreted as a human jaw bone.

The statement concludes by saying that after many hours examining the site and despite digging down further than the depth at which all the other bodies were found:

We have not found any identifiable human remains but our work to excavate the site is continuing.

Police yet to find remains of Moors murder victim Keith Bennett in dig

The human jaw bone is the part of the human body that is least susceptible to decomposition, so that is possible.

those who committed this evil will receive the same kind of torture themselves over many future lifetimes. It's the way the universe works. Karma.
Does that mean the victims were evil in a past lifetime and Karma was working as planned?

And if they were due to be tortured doesn't that mean that the torturers are caught in the same predestined future and so had no choice in the matter?

It's possible, but as @FatCat's post shows, the police have now abandoned the search because no sign of any human remains was found.

As a further statement from the police puts it:

Analysis of a photograph purporting to show a human bone found it to be "considerably smaller than a juvenile jaw" and it "cannot be ruled out that it is plant-based", the force said.

In any event whatever it was, and based on the police findings after an exhaustive search was concluded, it was apparently not human remains.
