Isn't there a meeting tonight? Are you fielding questions Rob?

If so, question number one.

What is the clubs position on the proposed re-structuring of the league.

Neil Warnock is attending to speak with fans - for half an hour so am expecting most the meeting will be him outlining his plans.
I have just made a brief statement to Tyne Tees as a Boro fan not a forum member - that this is operation power grab - feels like taking advantage of the situation - but for the EFL they are desperate for Premier money - I don't know what you all think but I wonder whether even Boro will be able to survive if a worst case scenario saw no fans this season.

I was away working for three days after meeting called at short notice when Warnock wanted to meet some fans.
When I saw working away, I mean working away from computer.

Fair play Rob. I'm really not arsed about what Warnock has to say with this issue on the table. Understand it's probably a coup for the supporters forum to have Warnock etc.

OK I have just said that on Tyne Tees - but we need the Premier as a whole now to step up and back the EFL with money. If they do that then this whole manoeuvre will be worth it.

Did anyone have any questions for Neil Warnock?
How do you think Premiership clubs buying up players and loaning them out is impacting on academy players opportunities to break into the first team?
Isnt the loan system a means of the Premiership creating "B" teams by stealth?

He was booked for 30 mins and stayed for 90! He answered everything do comprehensively and was very witty. It was fascinating stuff. And hopefully the first of many such engagements. It would be totally wrong of me to break any trusts here, not that there particularly secrets shared. But he is such an engaging chap. He speaks common sense yet it is grounded in all those years of experience. And he clearly revels in the psycology of the game. He has to be a phenomenal man manager you just know it. He demands players run through walls for him and they really want to because it is Warnock.

I don't suppose the meeting was recorded? Would be great for the fans to hear from Neil.

No we do these things on the understanding they are not taped.
He would really like to go out and meet hundreds of fans but he can't.
We have been bitten by this before and reports on fmttm (not from me) directly stopped a manager making a tour of clubs and venues to speak with fans face to face.

But Mark Motley is going to check about what he can broadcast from the meeting.
You can imagine there would be pages of stuff from 90 mins. But we should hopefully be able to put something out from the meeting notewise later in the week.

I mean Rob, it seems a bit odd that the forum recording wouldn't be available to supporters given the name of it. Surely the whole point is to get fan involvement - a bit hard to do when there's no ability for fans to see what's being discussed in their name.

I have a sympathy with that. Certainly these forums shouldn’t have an informal chatham house rules culture but for sake of transparency and good messaging I would have thought there would have been no harm in an immediate report on the meeting. I do appreciate that messages can be misinterpreted with the willingness of some to splash them all over social media which may do more harm than good. But to have to wait a few days?

I was more a guest at the meeting so am not calling the shots on this. But I will find out today what is what.

One of the concerns about allowing fans back into stadiums isnt just the 90+ minutes of the match.

It's the fans travelling to the town/match, the drinking in the pubs before and after.
