Support for Scottish Independence hits 58%

The vast majority of 'Scotland's Oil fields' which are legally British and would be negotiated in any break-up are actually close to the Shetlands, who on 11th September 2020 - " The Shetland Islands Council has voted 18-2 to explore ways of looking at independence - and claim its geographical share of North Sea oil. "

Again with fishing "One-quarter of all the fish landed in Scotland in 2016 was landed in Shetland" - so if Shetland Leave, Scotland are definitely buggered

You think that legality will stand up, once the UK gets divided?
Do you think England would get more of a share, or less of a share?
Do you think Shetland would want independence from England or Scotland and the EU?

If Shetland left, then they are not going to ditch Scotland and team up with England are they? They would ditch both and go on their own and be absolutely loaded, which is of no benefit to England, so don't do anything to risk that. They would no doubt want to trade massively with the EU, they would be a bigger customer than us. Same thing applies to fish. If Shetland ditched us, they would be back in the EU in no time, if it suited them better.

It's quite obvious Same_as_before that some posters on this thread HATE being British/English, if the European Union is so good, there is 25+ countries to choose from - no one is keeping them in a land they hate

I don't hate being British, I've been to wars for this country/ the UK, which is more than most of you plastic patriots. You're actually trying to keep us here though, as you sort of just took away the vast majority of those that live in the UK's options to move elsewhere.

Don't worry though, as soon as I can I'll be off, and I'll take my companies, it's jobs and it's tax payments with me, just like many others have, are and will do. It's actually still quite easy to leave if you're going to be taking jobs elsewhere, which the UK (England) will soon find out.

But there are some things I hate, mainly people that are stuck in the past and people that think just because they're English they have some sort of right to be boss of the world. It's not the case, everyone eventually finds their level, and we will find ours.

The funny thing is, nearly everyone I know that voted remain, could still quite easily leave the UK/ England to work abroad (EU or ROW) if they wanted to, as most people I know are highly skilled or in trades with high demand. The lesser skilled or those from low demand jobs won't get that choice of course, which was one of the points remainers were trying to defend, for the good of the UK.

Can't be based anywhere on the East Coast as they need quick access to the Atlantic (y)(y)

That only applies if you're mates with those to the East (which we were for the last 70 years), but now of course they are going to be our larger direct competitors. Also seeing as you will no longer be mates with Scotland, it kind of means you have to have something/ most on the East coast.

You also have the small matter of Scotland being the site of our air defence early warning, of threats from the North/ North East, you know, like the ones that we have had every week since the 80's.

You've criticised people for hating their country, when all they hate is the damage being done to it, with support from yourself.

You label the Scottish 'thick' then moan about name calling.

You don't know what the future holds, Brexit was never going to be a 'success' within the first few years - as a nation we haven't negotiated our own trade deals for 40+ years - of course the first few are going to be a little ropey

It might take 10 years before the benefits of Brexit are seen, who knows - remainers haven't even given it a chance... since day 1 they have tried everything to sabotage the result - who needs enemies when we have remainers (y)(y)

To be fair stato you will find employing people easier as the unemployment rate is far higher in most of the EC. ( Pre Covid? ) Bye.

To be fair, I probably wouldn't, as the people I employ are skilled, on 40-120k per year, never known any of them be unemployed, anywhere in the world, so try again.

Also, it's not likely I would be moving to a place with high unemployment, unless it was a place on the up.

There will be no trade left to deal once all the industry that's left pulls out.

Ah, the old classic "You don't know what the future holds". Aye, if I jumped off a 50mtr cliff then I or you don't know for certain that I would die either. But when most of the experts are saying "don't jump, it's probably not a good idea mate", then it might be wise to listen to them.

Just because something isn't a proven statistical certainty, does not mean that the wo outcomes (good/ bad) have an equal probability.

If you think the way you do in the real world, don't ever go into a casino, as they're going to have your pants down.

Oh, and we had one of the top seats at the table organising our trade deals within the EU for 40+ years, except we were doing it from a much stronger position.

You are your own enemy, you're just not smart enough to realise that.

Treacherous to the last. Sold out your own for a daydream offered by an elite.

Not a gambling man.... probably that's why my bank has a lot of £££££ in it

I would probably say that's not the reason why, most people with plenty of money don't blow most of their wealth on gambling.

Not sure what figure you're defining as a lot but most with money would probably have that invested and earning, rather than sat in the bank doing nothing.
