Stonemasons at the Riverside

Camsell absolutely, Juninho not a chance there's far more deserving players / managers than him - Rioch, Mowbray, Maddren, Charlton etc.

Plus we'd have to get a new statue for when Athletico Madrid fancy putting one up, and the statue decides to up and leave as he fancies that more.

I get why Clough is where it is, but needs moving now. It was nice to have it there, but should definitely be moved now. We could have a little heroes row with statues on either side.

I have been talking with the council for a few weeks about the Brian Clough statue. It is not a situation of neglect. But it is not something that would be necessarily solved by moving the statue. When the payments are made to fix the statue - which will not be cheap then if the statue moved to the Riverside who would then be responsible for its upkeep? And if it cracked once again, which it could do just as easily at the Riverside as in Albert Park then who would pay next time? The cost would be probably beyond crowdfunding as it requires transport to specialists in the south of England.

It is not being vandalised. We think people are posing for selfies or draping a scarf around it etc. Might this not happen at the Riverside also?

It will be fixed they are going to do this but it is important to find out why it is continually breaking and so how to prevent it happening again in future. Only this morning I have been helping out with this. My interest is that I was on the original group that fundraised for the statue and obviously like everyone I really want to see the fence removed and for the statue to be enjoyed again.

I'd love to think it was Clough being moved there for protection and maintenance.
Also love to see a Camsell one.
I don’t get the Clough love in on Teesside. I understand he is an ex player and local lad who done very well in management, but so did Revie. Clough also went and played for our rivals. Leave his statue in Albert Park, it’s got no links to our club.

If a statue breaks when a scarf is draped on it or someone puts their arm around it, maybe we need to think about these people making the statues??

It's a great piece, i see it a couple of times a week and really wish it could be sown in its glory

Am hoping to work with a local politician to get some recognition to Revie in Middlesbrough - maybe in his old school. I know he was a divisive character but knowing that the most successful manager in England of his time came from a deprived area of Middlesbrough could inspire kids in that end of town now.
Brian Clough - scored 204 goals in 222 league matches for Middlesbrough including 40 or more goals in four consecutive seasons.

Not interested in Revie.

You can’t knock Clough’s goal scoring record but all his success came at other teams. Do we really want to jump on the back of that? It sounds desperate to me.

Should be a Steve Mclaren statue at The Riverside, only manager who has ever won owt for us, but constantly derided for 'boring football' and because he was let down by the 'Golden Generation for England' (also did some sterling work at Sid James Park)!

o_O 200+ goals isn't a success? 200+ goals isn't a link to our club? Honestly Norman I think that's a bonkers attitude to take.
