Stockton Globe Announces New Shows

This pandemic has been terrible timing for the venue but I hope it gets up and running - it looks fantastic, and I hope it helps and contributes to similar venues in that part of the town. I could see this venue attracting larger acts to headline events like Stockton Calling in the future. Hopefully its a shot in the arm for the Arc too.

Only Waterboys that would interest me. Looks like it will be one of those places who have a lot of comedians on as it's easy pickings. Although I like most of comedians wouldn't go to see them in the Globe.

Had to laugh at that write up for the House and Garage Orchestra.
"The ultimate live celebration of UK House & Garage. An expanded live band re-imagine your favourite House & Garage tunes like never before!" ......try muting it.
Hate Jools big band but I know he's popular just not sure why.

I know when it was talked about reopening it was always going to be music and comedians driven. That's an interesting list, but only really Paloma Faith, Steve Hackett and The Waterboys would attract me.

At some point they will start doing plays/theatrical shows as that's what they do in a lot of the venues they own.

There's no wing space for actors getting on and off stage. ATG are officially the world's biggest theatre company, so have a notion of what they're about and this staffing and programming for Stockton is a bit of a new direction for them.

Earlier in the year they were showing people around the building and the woman who runs the place said they would be putting theatre type shows on as they do in S'land etc.

So unless something has changed its in the plans to do them.

3000 - top capacity but isn't 1600 all seated and maybe tables. Flexible.

I think they can take seats out to have a standing area at the front and then seats behind so yes its 3000 max and a few less for some gigs

Im not up on comedians but I'm sure those mentioned all play the Town Hall semi regularly. It does make you wonder if the Globe will seriously affect the Town Hall as a live music venue.
