Stockton Fireworks off until 2025

Surely the local councils could all come together ie darlo/stockton/middlesbrough and come up with a suitable alternative site to host a spectacular display for the area?

Genuinely gutted....I'm 48 and can count on 1 hand how many displays in Stockton I've missed in a lifetime, they always put a good display on.
The problem now is, so many more people are going to rely on shop bought fireworks ( which definitely should be banned) leading to a rise in accidents, noise and people having problems with their pets. And before anyone starts with the "it's only for one night" argument, we all know it isn't. As soon as the shops start selling they start going off....what I can't understand is the idiots who buy them and set them off in daylight....what is the f***ing point of that!!!

In shops, yes. Displays, no.

The one they had at the transporter bridge was good about 10 years ago

Skinningrove display also not going ahead for the foreseeable future as people can't park cars correctly.

I remember going to Clairvllle common one year with its massive bonfire - only remember one though (back in 70s)

Just read middlebrough council have jumped straight on this and are doing a display with the same firework company Stockton use....but are charging £4 a ticket!!!

I'm not sure as it doesn't state but with it being Stewarts Park I'm assuming it's entry to get in to the park
