Steve Gibson

It shocks me when I hear that some people think Gibson has taken the club as far as he can and should step aside, usually for "some rich foreign owners".

I'm proud that our club has so much integrity, is locally owned and contributes so much to the local communities on teesside - Gibson has been the key driver behind that.

You don't have to look too far away from here to see what it looks like to sell your soul to the devil and its definitely not a good look.

I hope he's got the incentive and motivation to support the club for many years to come, because doing things the right way, is the right way to do things, now more than ever.

If you look at this season as an entity with everything that has gone on from Warnock to Wilder, Derby and now this, Steve Gibson has been a magnificent representative for MFC and certainly in my lifetime I've never been prouder to boast that he is the chairman of our football club.

Top man.
Great stamina to keep taking the knocks and remain true to your aims.
Until you've done it I don't think anyone really knows how hard it is to run a business.
With him, that's just his day job! He still has a football club to run too.
All of this in the public eye which is quicker than ever to cast its opinions.
A quite incredible achievement.

So pleased he's found a Manager he can trust after some of the charlatans we've had over the last few years.
(I'm looking at you Garrry Monk).
Lets hope the current background team continue to perform and leave Steve to relax and enjoy the football.

If this is as far as Gibson can take us, I'll take that and have him as our chairman all day long, but I am sure his asperations are greater than The Championship however good this league is.

Arise Sir Steve.

As much as we would all love to go back to those days of riding high in the Premier League, it is still fair to say that what we continue to achieve season in season out will make us the envy of many clubs.

By my count we are one of only about 15 clubs (don't quote me on that it's a rough guess!!) to have spent all of the last 30 years within the top 2 English leagues.

Not bad for a small town on Teesside.

Thank you SG,

Glad our team wasn't built on the profits from 15,000 Russian T-34 steel armour and diesel sales.

Look back......

Rescued a club
Built a fantastic Stadium
Was the first 'big money' chairman (all of it squeeky clean) and scooped with Rav, TLF, Emerson, Merson etc etc etc.
Attracted the Manager all Clubs wanted... Bryan Robson
Won a major trophy
Got to a a Euro final with 'just a small club on Teesside'
Nurtured two future England Managers
Champion of fair play
And not afraid to stand up and be counted...... saying what the other Chairman daren't about Chelsea

What a man......
I'm afraid Strachan outweighs it all ....and always will 🥺
